Edie Marshall - everything (and I do mean everything)
Details
I am a one-woman, lo-fi deal, though hope one day to graduate to at least medium-fi. I have a computer and I'm not afraid to use it.
I generally play music that challenges the ear, but also has a more traditional, comfortable feel to it. Kind of like being wrapped in a down quilt by a warm fire in your childhood home while your parents scream and curse at each other in the background.
My two biggest influences are Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. But I have been known to become captivated (for a variety of reasons) by (though not limited to): The Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bob Dylan, Belle & Sebastian, Joanna Newsom, Bjork, Iron & Wine, Songs:Ohia, Portishead, Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros, Low, The Strokes, Pixies, David Bowie, Nick Cave, Catherine Wheel, Velvet Underground, AC/DC, The Raveonettes, Interpol, Tindersticks, Franz Ferdinand, Castanets, TV on the Radio, Antony & the Johnsons, Jesca Hoop, Richard Swift, Matt Suggs, Gregor Samsa, British Sea Power, My Bloody Valentine, Scissor Sisters, Hey Willpower!, 13 & God, Themselves/Them, cLOUDDEAD, Matmos, Wolf Eyes, Sunburned Hand of the Man, The Unicorns, Black Dice, Merzbow, 80's music, over-the-top camp, avante garde jazz, opera, classical, musicals, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, drones, distortion, reverb, square wavs, clicks, pops, trains, planes and automobills (sic)...
