I find it strange that this would be compared to Jethro Tull and then have the same person say I sing with too much vibrato. I mean, Ian Anderson sang with a ton of vibrato.. and still rocked. For that matter, so did Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and countless others. That being said, being compared to Jethro Tull in any way shape or form is, I think, better than this song deserves.
Some folks don't seem to like my voice for whatever reason... it seems about 50/50. I'm not too torn up about it. I like the way I sing. Thanks everybody for your mostly awesome comments. I do concur that the vocals are mixed too high. In fact, I think I may have submitted a preliminary mix by mistake. Keep on rockin' fizz.

I dig this. The country-ish vibe coupled with the tweaky pizzicato work really well. I like the rhythm section in the verses (the organ jabs and the rhythm guitar alternating accents in stereo). Cool synth work on that violin. It comes off as a bit of a parody (of that country minor rock style), definitely in a good way. I'm a total sucker for a little telecaster slide too. Tastefully inserted in transitions. Good style choice for singing too man. I'd personally like to hear a resolution at the end... Why finish on the 5 chord?

for me the voice totally fits the song. i don't notice pitchyness in this, what i hear is a very cool and unique voice. i also really like that its difficult to discern the structure. i do agree with other posts here regarding the ending. i feel like i was robbed. please resubmit the whole mp3!
Clockwork Family

this is an excellent peice. i love it when somewhat serious subject matter is acknowleged, but narrated from a humorous perspective. ahhh, disfunctional family. sometimes it does seem like it would be easier to have that clockwork family from the 50's that seemed to operate with a machine-like efficiency and dependability.

the way the voice of this song views the world is what makes it so great for me... that whole bit about the freeway with cars being a peaceful and efficient thing with "only fractions of a second in-between" is a neat perspective.

there isn't one thing i dislike about this song. cool instrumental break with the solo and all those strings. the vocal delivery is great. i really like the fingerpicking. i'll be damned if you deserve less than 5 stars from me.

"life would be a lot less hassle, if i could replace these pointless people with machines."
