ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

I keep meaning to respond to Qualcomm's original post but forgetting. It's funny you mentioned the Boston guitar stuff. We have two guitarists in the band (the singer also plays guitar occasionally but not on this song). The first solo in this song is played by Steve (Radiohead, Muse influences) and the second is played by Woody (Journey, The Who influence). I really think you can hear their influences in their solos in this song.

No thats cool, I welcome the comments and criticism, the problem is its just vague enough that I'm not sure what part of the music specifically you feel is stale (other than the specific comment on the pixie dust snare). I guess we could be considered an alt-rock power band so sounding like one doesn't really seem that bad other than not standing out from the crowd. I forgot where I was going with this. Toodles. :)
Chest Ticka

Chill on the guitar solos. Makes me want to say "Are you gonna go my way?", especially since I don't have any idea what a chest ticka is. Other than that this song is pretty nice. I could hear this is a movie as background music to a bunch of punk kids smashing car windows. I doubt I could stand a whole CD or concert worth of vocals like that, 3 minutes and 57 seconds is about my limit.

When I first heard the start of this I thought of the A-team.

I really like this song. Great vibe, not trying too hard. That yeah is done just right, I could imagine it going terrible wrong if either voice went just a little off key but thankfully it didnt. We should play a show together.

On the side note: Nickleback has horrible lyrics and their singer's voice is annoyingly fake intense sounding. I hear what you are saying about the production though, I thought the same thing when I heard the new All American Rejects album.

Thanks for the in-depth review Nova. I can see what you are saying about the vocal melody and I agree... I'll pass that note on to the singer, hopefully we'll get a shot at rerecording it someday for a full length album :-O.

wow 1.5 that's pretty harsh considering some of the music on this site, still i like the feedback. Not sure exactly what you mean by "the world doesn't need more of this kind of music". Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment but I'm curious what your thoughts are on the other song we have published on here.

This song sounds so much like the Stone Roses I would have believed it was them if someone told me it was until the 1234 stuff. Luckily they were a pretty awesome band. I think the low-fi production works well on this, cool effects but the tone that comes in at the end (2:44) doesn't seem to fit that well.

For some reason this reminds me of Primus.

The lyrics come across as kinda needy, Buyer is right. He is absolutely wrong about Sea Change though, it's a fantastic CD. Stereosonic Soul Manure is garbage though. This song doesnt seem to be well synched, consider using a metranome or a click track next time, even though its just vocals and two guitars.

"sex style's retarded" lol. Yeah I agree with everything cracker said, the chorus vocals need some work. Solid rap timing and vocal tone.

Without the slide guitar(or lap steel?) going on in the background this is a 1.5/2 star song. I agree a little more energized solo would really kick things up a notch. This works but I'm not sure I could tell it apart from the thousands of reggae songs out there, there isn't a particular hook or memorable moment that would make me say "I want to hear this reggae song" as opposed to any other. What I'm getting at is it doesn't seem that sing-a-longish (If I may make up words) which (in my mind at least) seems to be a key component of a successful reggae song.
