ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

hmm...if this song was about 15 bpm faster and had a horn section on the off-beats, you'd have an excellent ska song going here

so dumb....I love it. tragically, I know exactly what this song needed! right as the guitar came in the keyboard pad should have dropped out & been replaced with handclaps and a tambourine. dare you to try it! the keys could come back in for a second at the end just to be perverse. this was a treat!

As someone who constantly is drawn to past musical styles, as much to my own chagrin as to the other Red Fizzers, this actually sounds dated by about 6 or 7 years. Where were you then? The kind of person who appreciated this back then has moved on, because this kind of music is about progressing. For this to be 'retro' seems to be an anathema to all parties concerned. And I speak fluent anathema. Please get the patch, buy some new discs, come back and be fascinating.

Having heard this once, I don't feel compelled to ever hear it again. I feel the same way about Ashley Judd movies, so you're in good company. But you were still better than the competition. Your song is clever and well done, but I really can feel the one-listen-only appeal of it. Sorry.

I did the twist during that okay with everyone? There seem to be a rash of songs like this in the battle right now...thank God they weren't up against each other, it would have taken all the fun out of it. Oh, if only Red Fizz became a permanent venue for today's battlebots.

I really appreciated the thematic development when the song went from "wicky wicky woo" to "doink-a-wicky-dit-dit-dit-doink-a-woo"....did you study with Nadia Boulanger?

I didn't make it to the end of the song....rumor has it there's a kazoo there. God protected me from the evil kazoo by forcing me to pick the other battle contestant rather quickly. Nothing personal, My Ship. I just called you My Ship. Isn't that funny?

I was completely unimpressed **until** the fake train I can't wait to download this gem! This song makes me want to run really hard into a wall and fall down. And then eat a chocolate doughnut. Excuse me, donut, for the Dave Fans.

This is so dementedly wrong that it's now my new favorite Red Fizz song of the year. I can only imagine what the unperfected versions sound like! I will dream of them tonight. I love this in a way that I can't explain. It's what I hoped would become of The Talking Heads, that instead of become pretentious sub-creeps they'd somehow find a way to raise painfully dull conversational lyrics like these to a kitschy art form. This is so good in a special way.
