ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

I actually disliked the lyrics on this one... but the production sounds good.

picture threw me- I was expecting joanna newsom or joan baez or something... still won... but i would've rather heard joan baez.

like the harmonies alot... maybe it needs a big organ sound in the chorus? very crisp recording job.

the 'gay' background vocals at around 1:31 and 1:47 were brilliant. that whole chorus is really smooth. i often have a hard time listening to a song all the way through on this site, but this had me going back for thirds. great stuff.

technically skilled- or at least speedy. as elephant suggested, probably wouldn't catch me listening to this for fun, though. probably fun to watch, though, and as far as cheesy jazz fusion song title puns go, this one's pretty good.

if i didn't know any better, i'd say i was listening to spacemen 3... and that is a major compliment. love it. bring vocals up a bit, but not too much. and try some harmonies with the main melody. otherwise- great stuff.

i would review this, but aaron said all that needed to be said.

it's good, but gets sterile after a couple of minutes. 3 stars is a stretch, but why not?

if vocals were better, this might actually be pushing 3 stars. until then...

i think the production needs some serious rethinking. think "figure 8" by elliott smith. this could sound really nice if you tried some orchestral stuff with it. it feels like it's a well written song that didn't live up to full potential. aside from that, it's quite good.

not quite shoegaze, not quite talking heads- i dig the vibe. it still needs something extra. verses and choruses drag on for to long and it seems like this only happens for the sake of pushing the song over 2 minutes. if you don't have enough material in a song to make it long, either add another part or just end it earlier- don't trade length for monotony, at least when it's not especially tasty to do so.

if it wasn't as john cougar mellancamp-cheesy, this could be a better song. improving the lyrics could really, really help this song out.

the bridge felt like it was just there for the sake of having a bridge, rather than because it fit the song.

still a solid effort, good job.

songwriting's pretty weak, but production nearly completely makes up for it, though at points it falls desperately short. strong vocal performance. starts to drag around 2 minutes.

alright song- deserved a second stage slot.

harmonies in the second half of the verses sound like they could be improved. experiment with intervals. otherwise, sounded good.

lyrics were questionable ("kill them off before they replicate"?), as well, though i couldn't hear them too clearly on one listen through. they're fine if that's what you're into, though.

for the "woo" bit, i'd suggest trying out some reverb on the vocals. they feel too out in front to be tasty- at least on my terrible computer speakers without any bass.

overall enjoyable, and something that would probably be fun to watch at a show or something.
