"she" forgot to mention that this is another "early years" shortbus contribution- It's a ditty "she" wrote around 1982, with words written in '82 or '83, it is an incomplete version whose lyric sheet went missing years ago...pre-Pauline T.

This is some funky-ass rythem and blues...Love these sounds...Seems like something removed from its time and mixed with the future. Momma's a mess of a confused babe, but a babe all the same!

Brag, brag, brag...What's different with this? Someone's got to break the cycle of writing the same old thing...It could be you. Unless people can relate to you, they won't care to hear this-This seems to be only about you, and no-one likes a braggert. Do you even need me to spell out what's wrong with being so un-original?

Wow! Cooler than #@&%!! Deep #@&%!/nice poetic lyrics. Amazing sounds, wonderful voice. You'd like Patty Griffen...Different/unique voice, very strong. Best thing I've heard today.

Don McLean vibe..."historock"...would be great to play on a Saturday mornings to teach the kids about the civil war...accompanied by an appropriate cartoon. Liked the militaristic drums; fitting for the subject matter...but bring those vocals up so's we can make out what you're saying!

That was funny...Good times, Unk! Good times...That's when I thought you had me mixed up with someone else, and I just wanted you to know that not all my comments were "nice and bland." I thought about that reynolds wrap line just the other day. Your song probably didn't deserve that. Sorry.

It was fun getting inspiration from someone else's music, so thanks, Balcerabon-This was a cool piece; don't know if I did it justice or not...The experimentation continues...I don't know if I'm likin' the effects on the vocals or not-That delay box is very hard to get a good sound on, and I may just toss it permanantly...

Buyer, this WAS does seperately. B. sent me music already finished (didn't anyone recognize it?) and I wrote some lyrics and "sang" them...I had gotten a bent circus vibe from the music, and stuff like you'd hear from some grotesque female freak-show circus barker started coming...Maybe it was my way to descibe the 'Fizz population...Haha! (Just kidding!) Anyhow, thanks for listening!

I love it! Thanks for the uplifting do do do song! It's great for the holiday season, and I love the lilt of the Rogue...a right pleasant little ditty!

yeah, too busy...but I liked it more than the folk emo it was up against for its daring to be different.

Never predictable, with the dinosaur--Always something untoward or unexpected! An interesting listen, but I don't imagine I'll be humming it later...

Damn that Aaron and his fact-finding skills! Maybe Jim meant the last WW1 survivor in England? Or in the home town from whence Jim hales? In any event, the description of the troops laying down their weapons and exchanging gifts really got me. Wish that could be every day of every war...

I love the simplicity of the words that tell this tale, a tale that belies it's upbeat feel with the much more complicated and distressing truths that lie beneath. The notion of a loved one "being" with one in an hour of need when it cannot physically be's profound, and I was truely touched. And the very way the word "believe" is sung with so much conviction. You've inhabited the character so convincingly. The playing is impeccible, the singing very strong. The story and lyrics are outstanding. You're a heck of a talented writer, Jim, please don't take your song away!

a well-written song about town..."doing the best things so conservatively..."
