Thanks for checking out my tunes. This was an original piano piece that I composed in 79. I might have recorded the piano part into the sequencer so that I could fix a few errant notes, but it wasn't quantized. I am constantly amazed by how much of my stuff consists of keys. I would consider myself primarily a guitar player, but I love other sounds and also it may be a lazy thing. Guitars have to be mic'ed and tuned.

So, this is the so called trumpet guy. How many chords does he know? Can he play a D?

I'm afraid that this was an attempt, (whilst staying in the afro beat genre), at contemporary cowboy music. Thanks for the trumpet compliment. I thought it out of tune and almost pulled it for some other kind of solo. We'll keep practicing at that. Gimmick heavy? What is a gimmick? This tune contains no guitar collage loops or Fisher Price eel effects, only real instrument. If I knew what a gimmick was I bet I'd like it. See liner notes for additional superfluous song info.

The Honorable Gooey Yummo held the baton for the guesting Enharmonic Disorchestra. Robert Schumann is on the grand piano. Chastity Blankets rocked the B3. I drummed and the Head Brothers filled the gaps with trumpet.

Thanks for saying that. It was really one quick off the cuff mix replaced by another of the same. I do think it sounds clearer and punchier. I added a piano part. This song was an accident. I really have very few hours invested.

Its an old joke that goes;
Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana.
This has always made me laugh.

I tried to write the music as a personal theme for a fly.

You people are weird. This is totally a one take production (except keyboard elements were quantized just a bit). To be compared to Pet Sounds is the greatest honor, but even weirder still. The original idea was to make the (pet) solo sound like a fly buzzing around. But it sounded more like sax. And since I've been sustaining these last few months on a Trane IV, I went for it. I am posting lyrics to liner notes in a minute since the excellent production muddles them somewhat. There are some excellent songs posted today. Thanks for listening.

The shaker is actually one of those mini tamborine things that mount onto the hi hat shaft. I saw one over at WillB's house and had to get one. Cep'n I mounted mine upside down. I wrapped the metal rim with selastic tubing fastened on with tie wraps so now I can beat it with the sticks. Except that this was actually the first recording that I have used brushes on. Oddly, wifey received the limited edition Twin Peaks box set for christmas (which we have been watching. The pet is something I had only blown for about a week. I had played a baritone back in the 70's (bigger mouthpiece) so I know the fingerings but need serious practice to improve my embouchure. I imagine many more Tpet stuffs coming around soon. I have been listening to MIles and Coltrane a lot lately. Thanks for the comments.
