We wrote this in the summer of 2008 when I was falling in love with a girl who lived in her car. She had nowhere to sleep so I let her stay with me for a few days. I recorded and sent the song to her, but I doubt she ever listened to it. l think she wanted me as long as I despised her. I wanted her as long as she ignored me. Yet, she inspired this and for that I am trully grateful. I almost forgot about this piece until about a month ago, when I was cleaning house and accidentally stumbled upon it. I am glad I found it since it brings back many of the feelings I had that summer when I laid next to her. Although I see her around all the time, I don't feel the same way I did that summer. This was just an after hours jam at Bill's house. We always have gear ready capture the moment. I doubled the guitar to make it sound fuller, but now I see that what often sounds sublime under the influence can sound horrid in the morning. The dog barking in the background, as well as the voices seeping in and out at the end were accidentally captured when I did the vocal. I can't even play this piece, but hope to start doing so in the very near future. thanks for the listen.
