It sounds like the piano is programmed, why would you do that? Get rid of the piano, it's not adding anything here. The mix could use a lot of work - vocal needs compression and needs to go up during the verse. For a song like this, you should double or triple-track the acoustic guitar and give it some stereo spread by panning some of them left and right. And where's the bass? The electric guitar solo doesn't fit at all. You might want to try adding a harmony. The tambourine should do something simpler on the verse. The acoustic guitar is a little out of tune also. There's too many gaps in the song - if the vocal isn't singing for a few seconds, there should be something else grabbing my attention.

Damn, this had me for a few seconds. For #@&%!'s sake, tune your guitar and stop it with the speaking samples. The groove sounds great, the production value is high, and you've got a good chorus. Then the coda is perfect.

Wait a second... Are you intentionally doing something that's almost awesome and then #@&%!ting on it just to get a rise out of people? In that case, good job, I guess.

I think there's some real promise in the songwriting here. The delivery leaves a few things to be desired, however. At the very minimum you should make sure your guitar is tune. After that, I'd work on getting a clearer vocal - if you can, get a better microphone, otherwise, EQ some of the lows out of the vocal because they make it sound really muddy - or maybe try backing away from the microphone a bit. The harmony seems a little sloppy, like it was an afterthought and doesn't add much here. You clearly can sing, but there's some off moments that you should go back and fix. I'd really like to hear this done better because I think there's a great song here trying to come out.

I'm hearing a lot of sounds that I like, but it just doesn't gel into anything that I can call a song - it just needs something that I can focus on amongst the chaos - something that makes me want to hear it again. The way it is, it's hard to identify with and there's nothing that I'll be humming away to in my head 15 minutes from now. Man though, I'm envious of the way you can blend sounds. You clearly know what you're doing in that regard.

Great melody, great lyrics, great production. I love the organic sound that you always seem to effortlessly achieve. Well done, sir.

Beautiful sound, beautiful vocals - unfortunately, the song is more boring than it is interesting. But it's on the cusp of being really awesome. First of all, turn the vocals up in the mix, then develop the melody more as armoog already said. What you're doing here is great, but it just doesn't go anywhere.

You broke my rule #1 - long, boring, wandery intro. But your melody is wonderful and the vocal is sometimes great. The recording could be a lot better, and the production is non-existent. You should spend more time on this one.

Great drums! I'm not crazy about the melody or the vocal though. The song itself is kind of just there and it's mixed such that I can't really understand the lyrics.

I think you're singing too close to the mic. I hear a bunch of popping and muddiness in the vocal, so back off a little bit. The melody and chord progression is pretty interesting, but I'm not into the arrangement -- especially the synthesizers. The bridge is great from a songwriting perspective. It seems like you're doing this whole thing on the keyboard, and I think that's a really bad idea if you want people to comment positively on the overall sound of things.

But I didn't give it the highest rating possible - that would be five stars, no? Average would be three stars, and I think this is well above average. You gave it two stars, Keaves, and said, "this is actually pretty good". I guess I also give the #@&%! up!
