great energy but the dynamics could be a bit more diverse. I wanna say bump the vocals too but I like the rawness

Thanks for the comments guys. This was one of the first ones we wrote together. I think dave was right about the vocals being dropped a bit, at least after the first bit.

Here's the lyrics if anyone was curious.

A piercing screaming that struggles to express
when your highways full of cars
and a tidal waves inside your head

running out of obstacles to throw
defenses back preparing to reload

your harbinger its easy to detect
its fossil fear that runs you
gotta redirect your breath

redirect your breath

running out of obstacles to throw
defenses back preparing to reload

Here's the space where you should really voice
options may be fickle
but you always have a choice

redirect your breath

can you grab the arm? gotta block the ledge
batten the hatches all hands on deck
deflection the cresting, its hard to make a bed
when a tidal waves inside your head

Lost in the Fog of War

I think bumping the bass more would do a lot for this song. Then I'd clean up that guitar so it can cut through more. a cool opening but I think the tempo could be faster too. Otherwise the pieces are all solid.

try recording guitars separate from the vocals, might make timing stuff easier

bold type of song that i assume would divide most people into reject or feature. I think a long song like this would be great with some sort of tim burtonish video. I don't care for that crackily sound that shows up now and then. Is it a vibraslap with a bunch of reverb or something? I respect the work I imagine went into it but i agree with middle age music that it's a bit too thematic (to me) to warrant repeatedly listens.

Sounds very professional. Reminds me of the Foo Fighters.

As one of the singers, I usually prefer to write vocal lines based on feel rather than sitting down and breaking down note for note whats going on but that might help make future performances more original and less rote. I pushed for the poppy chorus, its possible we could've written a better one in the original time signature. We'll keep tweaking with future compositions. Point taken.

Thanks for the feedback and the second stage. The dissonance thing on guitar was intention and part of the original line. We could've sang that note to make it more consonant but decided not to.

Jonathan, are you talking about the the first vocal part, the dissonant bit or the chorus?

I kinda dig the scratches and everything. almost makes it sound old timey. sappy lyrics but its a happy go lucky ska thing. doesn't matter. fun times
