The story ain't over yet. Though I had success covering Justin Potts song, the dirty secret is that I went in and lined up a lot of the drum beats. The drumming is really struggling right now. But I am determined. Soon.

In the meantime, look for a whole slew of, soon to be recorded, acoustic/ vocal stuff from the deep depths of the EMBS vault. There are enough songs in there to allow me the time to become Elvin Jones.

I recently been deluged with questions as to where I have been and what I have been up to. Well answering that requires me back up a little. Ya see, even before the fizz I realized that I had a problem. I kept starting on album projects and after 6 songs I would become bored and start something else. (6 seemed to be the magic number) I would embark on a new direction that would require a new concept and band identity. Plus, I loved the idea of inventing new bands. Then the idea struck me that what I needed was a record label that could release a sampler of many bands. Thus IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT ReCORdS was born. This allowed me to go any direction at any time and still organize everything to one place. Well I just finished that sampler. 22 songs from 8 bands comprising 698.9mbs on a CD. And I have handed out over 10 free copies to this point with plans to give away many more. A smashing success if a do say so myself. Take that Sony, RCA, and Atlantic. The Fizz has been instrumental in motivating me to the most prolific year ever. But now the work is done and I am looking to up my quality. Over the years I have created my rhythm tracks many ways. I think I started with cardboard boxes and then moved to vinyl drum tracks called Drum Drops played by Jim Keltner. Since then I have programmed drum machines, sequenced midi drums on keyboard workstations and computer, used the automated rhthyms in a personal keyboard, and most recently chopped up drum loops from Apple Jam Packs. On occassion, I added a real snare and hi-hat parts such as on the fizz feature "3 am." Your Antie Chlamydia by sQuealing eels was the first IER tune to include a real bass drum. So basically to conclude my answer, I have been woodshedding desperately trying to learn to play a drum kit with a small amount of proficiency. At the point when I am able go to a real rhythm kit, my potential to do quality music making will vastly increase. Finally, I will be able to have realistic drums that fit my music instead of the other way around. I hope to post again sometime in the near future.
The dangedest thing happened. I went to the mall to get Jenisue some of that stuff that makes her hair smell funny, and I ran into LiTTLE TiMMY. I suggested that we catch up over a few beers in Dunderboks. When we got there RuSTY StAGGERBUsH and EdGAR were sitting at a table. Seems the same thing happened to them. I suggested that we get the band back together. RuSTY was preparing to leave for a tour of Latvia with his band MoOViS CoWSLeY. So that was that. Later he eMailed me saying he had seen how I had posted some of our old singles on RedFizz. He sent me a demo of a song he had just written while sitting on the banks of the river Daugava. He also sent me some drum tracks. Me and the boys popped over to PiG CiTY SoUND Co. and finished it up. LiTTLE TiMMY sang and EdGAR blew the Ripper Back From The Grave.

Bloodied

I was drivin' around
yeah I was drivin' around
while I was drivin' around
something hit me in the nose
but thats the way it goes

Well I was goin' down town
yeah I was Lookin' around
trying to find my sound
when it hit me in the nose
and thats the way it goes

I've been bloodied before
and I'll get bloodied some more

Well I don't even know
what I don't even know
and I can't even know
even though it makes its home
right in front of my nose

And it hurts when I learn
and it causes a burn
and when it takes a turn
and it hits me on the nose
ain't it a bloody rose

I've been bloodied before
and I'll get bloodied some more
