Timing a hair off on vocal dubs. But I like this a lot. It' s catchy. There's a lot of talent here. Ending echo 'dead dead dead' is awful. Like the raw snare, but the kick stinks. Keyboard is Greg Hawkes cool but too low in the mix. Like all the comparisons people pulled in here.

The lyrics to this song totally sum up my interior monologue from my highschool experience (of course I'm projecting my interpretation and philosophy from that time in my life as the result of the feelings of nostalgia this song hearkens). Descartes was my favorite philosopher and the Cure and the Smiths were my favorite bands. In reading some of the other comments, i'm having a hard time hearing this as an "enjoy life and make your life matter now because death is inescapable" song. I think mr. pony summed it up in his last comment about interpretation. The voice of the song seems to be insinuating the irrelivency of doing anything at all in life simply because nothing matters or has any longevity. If you enjoy life, it doesn't matter. If you don't, it doesn't matter either. It's so potent that it almost comes off as a parody for sure... are F & E just mocking the style? That wouldn't necessarily make me like the song any less if it were the case. Ahhhh nostalgia.. you know you get extra stars for that, right? Also, I really dig the synth, especially in the middle section where it breaks down a little. Thanks guys.

That is a little weird. The vocals are a little out of tune, and the music is just not on for this type. Seems like they could get there with some more work, but...

Dear Finkel& Einhorne,
I think I need to respectfully disagree with you about your interpretation of your song. Specifically, I'm not sure that that the song is suggesting that I enjoy life, at least not sincerely. When it suggests that it hopes I enjoyed my lifetime, it seems to be more of a rhetorical aside than an actual directive or meaningful wish on the song's part. When you look at it, the main thrust of the song seems to be that any pleasure or suffering one endures during their life amounts to exactly zero, because after all is said and done, we die and become nothing. The song doesn't care if I enjoyed my life any more than a police officer cares if I knew how fast I was going.

Now, I am not being critical of the message. In fact, I can get behind it one hundred percent. I just wanted to share my interpretation. Also, this song is funny. I hope that is okay.

Thank you for uploading your song. I have downloaded it to my portable mp3 player, for mobile listening. I hope that is okay, too.

Dear Mr. Qualcomm,
I feel that comments like "appalling" do nothing to contribute to Discourse, which I assume, sir, is the goal of your efforts at this web address. In fact I would argue a criticism like "appalling" is no criticism at all but is instead it's very opposite. It's a feeling lazily cast into the wind, masquerading as Truth. Given Mr. Danko's slap in the face to this site and it's new users I humbly propose a lifetime ban on him. Normally I would back-up such a bold suggestion with a well thought argument based on sound criteria. But in this case instead I choose to use Mr. Danko's rhetorical methods. In which case I will simply say you Mr. Danko are a jerk.
