I was hoping for a spaced-out version of the blondie song, so i'm disappointed.
i'm not sure why this song is getting such bad reviews however.
Maybe because it sounds so damned dated. it's the organ. is it a hammond?

check accent grouping one-two-three, one-two-three, one-two-three-four. Its hard to cut that into 5. Like Brubecks Blue Ronda a la Turk. Its a 9/8 tune that couldn't be cut into 3 time cause its grouped one-two, one-two ,one-two, one-two-three. The best "treatise" on this isn't even in a book. Its the liner note on Brubeck's Greatest Hits.

As a song it didn't really go anywhere for me. But I am giving you 2.5 just for doing a song in 10/8 time. I liked the 3-3-4 grouping. Its like something Brubeck would do.

Late 60's/early 70's sci-fi soundtrack from hell. I like the seemingly spazzy arrangements. For certain styles, I think subtlety is a virtue. This is not one of them, and I really dig the hyperactive nature of this tune. More atmospheric than "songey" for me, but that's not a bad thing. Then again, I am a big Bungle and Zappa fan. I enjoyed this listen a lot.

psyfer - Please don't turn this into one of those posting boards where guys go to relieve their daily frustrations. "Sock Puppets"??? I have read your comments on other bands and some of them really seem to possess some thought. But this posting disappoints... I understand not liking the song, but, as a musician, there is no doubt about their musicianship. Lets keep this board a place bands want to be a part of. Give them some feedback or say nothing at all. Just my thoughts. Don't take offense.

This Song has a really interesting theme going on. I am not sure where they were trying to go. Cause it never really seems to get "there"...Maybe I do not get the music? But I am a Bungle fan, and it reminded me of that. Yet, one thing Bungle had was the catchy vocals here and there and a verse/chorus type musical arrangement. I kinda think this is just one of those songs, and maybe band, that requires a very specific type of listener. But they still could benefit from some standardized arrangements. The listeners need to have something to grab on to. I am listening as I write this.. Man. I am really not sure where to go with this. I find myself thinking, it is not so good, and then yet, something kinda grabs me about the music. I think as I write and listen, it is the Vocals. They are just to buried and hard to grab for me…

Doesn't really do anything for me. There's not really much in the way of melody. The lyrics are difficult to understand. The singing isn't much more than chanting or shouting. might be fun to watch the band play live. I just don't get it I guess. Acid anyone?

This reminds me of early Pink Floyd mixed with grunge and some heavy rock--especially 3/4 of the way through, you get that 60's space cadet feeling. The elements don't all fit together right, but they have an original spastic quality. I would suggest cutting the first half in half, and generally spacing it up a little. They would definitely have been played by John Peel, the guy who discovered everyone after 1973 (Pulp, The Joy Division, The Manics in their early glory, even The Sex Pistols). I like this!

I agree with Qualcomm in that I'd need to want to listen to the song more then once in order to deem it "good". Sonically, it's very decent production. An interesting, albeit jarring motif, but too repetitive for me to loop this on Winamp.

I found myself excited by the opening salvo of this song. A creepy, crawly kind of carnival jam, a refreshing collission of weird sounds with promises of high unusualness to come. Almost like Ween, Mr. Bungle and that guy who composes music for some of Brendon Small's movies in "Home Movies" ran into each other at line at the Dairy Queen and exchanged favorite hunting anecdotes. But then, oh no, but then comes the droney vocal arrangement. I didn't mind the effect of the repeated lyrics, they were just put together so regular. I was hoping for something more manic to match the careening weirdness of the music. You get a little bit later on with the roboticizationizer, but by then my disappointment was too deep, too deep.
