Lamb Handler - Lamb Handler are a Rock and Roll band with an equal love of Johnny Cash and Mike Patton. The bands style has been compared to Eagles of Death Metal, QOTSA and Joe Buck. New album coming Jully 2008.

In reference to your reference DarkDanyael.....

This band is very lackluster and boring. The riffs they're leaning heavily on aren't very creative/mindblowing/catchy/interesting/cool. And the vox touch me as contrived. Many things touch me in many different ways, and, of course, many different places.

This band touched me right about my gooch.

That reverse guitar effect towards the end of the song is what got me. I wasn't sure if I liked this song or not until that came in. Overall, though, I don't think this song does it for me. It's got elements I like, such as the guitar tone, the driving rhythm. It starts off sounding a little like The Strokes and then I hear the QoTA reference kick in once the chord/timing changes begin. The vocals aren't grabbing me, though, I feel they are missing a certain strength to back them up.

Even though this song has potential, I can't say it really sold me. But, you have piqued my interests, and I will be paying attention to future songs, should you choose to post them.

I mean what if somebody said that at your show? would you thank them or punch them out. Not all compliments are straigh out, and comments are a good sign, at least people are paying attention. That said, good for rallying the friends and making some comments and for sticking around, - I say some rejects would even be happy for some insults, -from my personal experience (maybe wrong) music is about fun expression friends and sharing - and I wont even go down the road of insults at others expense. But opinions are cool too - really this is cool, hanging with friends and comments- its almost like the virtual record store where the beat junkies can hang out, all styles should be respected and one can learn from getting together and 'helping' eachother out

Some good commentary happening here. I like the song. It's well played and the recording is solid. Good parts and I like the (alto) vocals over the somewhat angular music...it's a nice contrast. As far as the band comparison issue goes: How can it be avoided? If you're listening to a song and it reminds you of another song, then it does. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. I recently gave the band Victory Hall a high rating even though they sound a whole heck of a lot like Guided By Voices. It was still a great song and I judged it accordingly. To me, I thought of Urge Overkill hearing your tune. But to me it's a loose comparison...I like what you're doing and don't mind that I'm reminded of another band I have enjoyed. Clearly this isn't the most exotic mix of elements and sounds. It's guitar based rock which is ok with me as long as it's good. I'll be revisiting it on my ipod and forming a more informed opinion but for now I give it 3 1/2- a good song that I enjoy but that doesn't quite knock the socks off my ass.

Yea, okay, QotSA all the way... THe good news is it sounds more like something off of Rated R and less like Lullibys. I think this song is competent, and catchy. These guys must have a pretty strong local following (or myspace following) because there are 8 people brought to the site to only vote on this song. That's something. They motivated 8 people. Unfortunately, because these people haven't looked around the site and are just voting on this one song, they are giving it inflated votes. I hate to hold that against a band.

People 5 stars basically means instant classic/ top 10 song status. Think "Wish you were here" "Immigrant Song" "Smells like teen spirit" Songs that grab a generation by the balls and influence thousands of wanna be rockers down the road.

That said, I think this song is solid. It's a 3 star song. I'm not voting 3 stars. BALANCE!

and to ivsamhell...i'm not quite sure what you meant by your comment "it sucks you can only compare music to other bands". while i agree that it can be somewhat deflating for a band to be compared to others, i think it's one of the better ways to communicate the style, sound, and overall feel that a song gives. this band in particular i think has a great song, and while they remind me of queens of the stone age, you don't hear me calling this band derivative, generic or unoriginal. in other words, comparisons are not always meant to be insulting or minimize the goodness of a band, and in this case, i don't think anyone on this thread was doing that.
