Animal Tropical - Fusing the wry and witty songcraft perfected by Steely Dan with tropicalia, rock, Animal Tropical's sound is super-danceable and, for all its quirkiness, goes over big with booty shakers of all colors, creed, and class.

i love the sound created here, to me there are so many melodic changes, one never really gets to enjoy the song fully... it's like a medley of hit tunes, all rolled into one song, but too quickly rolled, so you don't really get to enjoy each well-known song... as i've seen bands do on occasion live. but the band sound, and the talent, and the vibe, is great, one of my fizz faves

Young Grateful Dead. Kudos!! A little pitchy in places, but so was Jerry Garcia. You've really got something. Precise conformity within a band is a hard thing to find. Cherish it.

These guys are really talented! They're probably great to watch live too.

I agree with most of what's been written in reviews for this...I can't imagine being draw to listen to this, but if it was happening live in front of me I'd watch and be impressed. I admire any band who can actually play their instruments that well and have such involved and random sounding parts...well done. Impressive.

I was trying to wrack my tired and drunk brain last night (hence all the insane typos, though probably doesn’t explain some of the insane comments) but these guys have a definite old feel to them, I dunno if it’s so much as phish as it is like Three Dog Night or something along those lines. Hippy tendencies, a little bit of groovy, but at the core rock. I dunno. These guys are good. I wont listen to them again, I probably wouldn’t see them because after a few beers I may start slam dancing some hippies.

“Hey man… not cool.”

I agree with all the comparisons made so far. Can I throw in a bit of Ben Folds and every jam band ever created? Seriously, they're good. I also hate them, but for being good. Damn the talented bands! Damn them all to hell!

Yes. Musically, there's nothing to complain about here. Strong production values as well. Very talented near random noise. I would concur with BrownBunny regarding the influence of one's personal regard of a genre influencing the score of a rating. However, I won't vote on this. I'd never listen to this again unless forced.

The word on arpeggios and the miking of drums is that I love you.

They're talented--and in synch. I just don't like boogie rock. It annoys the hell out of me. I know that's overly-subjective. The drums are awesome, as is the guitar work. The singer can really sing. I have no option other than to rate these guys 4.5. I want to murder them, but they're very talented--and amazing within their genre. My hatred of the genre should not result in a bad grade. Any word on Arpeggios and the miking of drums?

It kind of sounds like The Band jamming out to the verses from Joy to the World. Not in a bad way though.
