I'm likin' the groove of this...the changes keep it interesting--The vocals get difficult to make out due to effects, but if I heard it more, I'd prob. get it...The lyrics are well-written and twisted....Kind of a dark theme, but handled well.

whatever it might be, i kinda like it. The way I like Hot Pockets. Not something i'd order at a restaurant but it usually hits the spot.

Of course it also gives me the #@&%!s.

I'm not sure I hear the punk rock side you mentioned. Which punk band does it remind you of?

Yea... TheBuyer I'm with you... some mixing could fix this song right up, I like it.

Johnny... work on the levels, get some (shudder I have to say this again) sound dynamics. This thing rolls pretty much at the same level. When you mastered it, did you put a heavy Compression on it? This could be a very cool song.

if by people you mean me, what i find scattered and unfocused is the conversation this song is trying to have with me. i could be way off base, it might be something about how this was (or wasn't) mastered. It's very, very busy and the transitions are either muddy, clipped or non-existant which isn't helping it out any; blame the drums in some cases and the guitar in others. there are flashes of brilliance in the first minute and closer to the end but they're too brief to forgive the overall result. there's a real issue with focus here and where to place it as well. The trick with busy stuff like this is to give and take focus, in this case everything is yelling at the same volume, and not in the Phil Spector way, in the cacophonous bandroom warmup way.

You know, I love the verse on this song. Its got a Beck or Jamiroquai quality to it, but then the chorus totally looses me. I don't like it, it seems to disconnected to me. Otherwise this would be a jamming tune that I would put on a mix tape for me and my friends. I am thinking about burning this though just so I can hear what the bass would sound like through my sub in my explorer. Ya know, I just listened to the first verse to chorus again, and its not so bad. I'm not sure this deserved the rejects pile, maybe second stage. I could even see this getting a feature. Or maybe something else by Mr. Bennett. I am going to download this.

nice! I think the reason people are finding it too "unfocused" is all the layers of sound. Personally, I think it's very creative and all those layers add depth to the bones of the guitar and vocals, but I'd recommend being mindful of what most listeners can tolerate(if you care).

yeah this thing is hard to follow. i think the "so you follow your life" part could be loads stronger. especially the last time its sung.
