I really like this. The female vocals are really good. I do think it lacks the true hook to be a hit, but I would listen to it over and over again. The drum loops are really crisp and nice, the vocals just effected enough, and the nice keys are soothing and also kind of Chemical Brothers.

Also has that Sneaker Pimps vibe, minus the strong hook in their one hit ;)

1. Technical ability
2. Good tone choice
3. Playing the right part for the song
4. Feeling
5. Originality

This gets:

1) 4.5 (I like all the players and loops)
2) 5 (Drum tone is great, recoding is great, really like the female vocal)
3) 4 (I wanted a definite hook, just missed it)
4) 5 (I love the feeling of this, kinda Sneaker Pimps)
5) 2 (I feel this is a really well done song in an overpacked genre)

Overall: 4.1

This song is boring me to tears. But at least I can get all the way throught it. You'll get some stars for that. There are a few intersting things going on though. So I guess I take that back. Maybe I need to listen a few more times. You should try doing this song with a band. I think that's what it needs, Some played, not programmed instruments.

I HAVE listened to this track many a time!! I even had a lil input on the final mix of it :) Sonus is actually a pretty good friend of mine and is the person that showed me this lil site...

As for this song its really amazing, along with all of Mr. Sonus's stuff. He is a certifiable madman and someone I look up to, highly respect and slightly envy :)

When he told me this #@&%! was going to be featured I thought to myself, "damn this site just gets better and better". Its good to see some variation and Redfizz is never lacking in that department!

AWESOME track man!!!!

Alright, i wish i could change my rating for this.
I rated this when i was early to this site, and i gave it 2 stars.
I wish HemiCube would listen to this.
I mentioned earlier that i had a quarrel with people using pre-fabricated loops.
I don't know what exactly it is that makes this different, but even if it WAS comprised of pre fabricated loops, there is enough going on in this song that is intersting, and CREATIVE that i don't wonder, how the loops were made.

This is nice becuase it has creative and origonal spins on a lot of aspects of it, a lot of stuff that just makes this really nice to listen to. Very engaging.

NEW VOTE! 3.5 Stars.

A little bit of Cocteau Twins there at the beginning. And there isn't a britney comparison--I'm going with The Sundays. The beats are great--very laid-back. In all I've heard this before. I would like some kind of climx at times--bringing the listener to the point and then backing off to tehse laid back beats. The synth effects are great--perhaps making them slightly more ethereal at times would be more conventional, but tehse guys really aren;t rocking the boat. Wonderful though. FOUR STARS!!!!

I like this song. I have no problems with the vocals. I believe a female vocalist can sound whispy and still be powerful. This is one of the ways I like my female singers to sound. A nice Sundays-ish style song.

btw are those dot matrix printers in the beginning?

if given the chance to remix this, i might put the backing vocals and piano melody into a more linear and ongoing position throughout the song. the lead vocals are actually sung in an interesting way. maybe not enough of the song is focused on that.

somewhat vague flavor of This Mortal Coil

BTW. I don't actually wish for Carey or Houston. I guess I was just searching for a more powerful sound to compare to. Personally I don't like them either. At least I didn't say that Candian chick who think she's the world's greatest singer. She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

first off, to no one in particular- #@&%! dido, and #@&%! genre-holing.
Nationwide, there's a smallness and sweetness to the vocals but besides that, wishing anything were more like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey makes me want to break my foot off in your ass.
That thread of noise makes my day, there's a lot going on in this thing that holds it together, I think.

This kinda reminds me of boring Lamb but not really.

Too ambient to keep my attention but not ambient enough to go in my chill mix. Well maybe. Maybe my lounge mix, if it had a little more d&b to it.

TheNationwide: Thanks again for your comments, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I think that such slight and dainty Dido-esque vox work very well in a track like this. Houston or Carey would simply overpower the underlying emotion of the track itself. I wonder if it's truly in the vox that you find something lacking? Anyway, thanks again!

So is this trip hop? Trance? I don't do genres well. This isn't bad, but I wish the vocals weren't so emotionless. I think with someone really belting these lines out and a faster tempo, you might have a dance hit on your hands.
