Proteus - Based out of Austin, Texas. Our name Proteus is from Greek mythology, a seagod who can tell the future and can change shape at will. Our style is exactly that!! We don't conform to one genre, we like to do what we want because we all have similar but different influences.

You guys can jamn and for your tallented riffs alone you get 4 stars....

I personally not to big on the instramental songs but I like some of the strong riffs...

I'm sure this is a solid song for your fans...

To give a song like this one 1 and a half stars and a dismissive, mocking review, and then pass 4 stars to Darth Vader is nothing but a flagrant display of musical ignorance. That is all I have to say.

You all are way off. This has Yes written all over it (and I LOVE Yes)...the #@&%!in musicianship is off the chart. I usually don't go in for the "I am obviously more better than you" thing, but if you want to go with straight up technical, I would WAY rather hear this than that Satriani, Vai or Johnson #@&%!.

That being said, it is a corner case. Not everyone is going to like this, just like not everyone appreciates Bird.

This shows some serious teeth in the genre that is frequents.

I used a Fulltone Ultimate Octave pedal on that part of song which give the notes a bell like tone. I didn't want to use the same sounds thru out the song. Anyway this information won't make you like the tone but its some insight. Thanks for all of your comments!!

I appreciate the enthusiasm, technical prowess, and the banjo, but it just left me feeling icky.

At moments it seemed to too overtly "Rush-ey".

Zealous, but tastless at times.

I could do a serious frenzied spazz-dance to this thing. I'd interpret each note with a flailed body part and ultimately vomit on myself 3/4 of the way through. The vomiting would be the best part for me. I'm mostly kidding. It's complex and has some great playing but it isn't pleasing me in the way I like songs to please me. I'm sure lots of people would appreciate this more than I am capable of appreciating it, however.

ok, i'm officially an idiot. i either never noticed the title of this song or disassociated it with the Flecktones for some other inane reason. but still, my comparison was based on the sound, not the song title. duh, look at me i'm an idiot! (jumping up and doing a danse macabre about the room). anyway, i like this song a lot. too short for my liking is my only criticism.
