decent beat, nice instrumentation...though, the keys could be played up a bit more. some of the vocals on the verses are a bit flat.

Agreed. This is safe. Hence you and 1000 other artists in this genre will be fighting for the one spot on the roster they hold for this kind of stuff. I think you are pretty good, voice is nice and feel is smooth, but something with a little more originality in the songwriting would make more of an impression (in your genre it won't take much to push the envelope, just something in a minor chord change or something).

this isn't bad, but i can see why it got rejected. There really isn't any 3rd gear to this song. It just kinda plays it safe and stays where it's most comfterble. Theres merit to that, it's just, you'll never get out from under the radar with "safe" tracks, but that IS better than falling straight on your face, so with that i say, I look forward to more tracks from this artist.
