Justin Sandlin - Don't open your mouth unless you have something good to say.

I am not a record buyer...I am a crook!

I'm a genius and you're stupid!!!!

Just kidding, of course. I don't think anyone is that much better than anyone else.

Lovely songwriting. Lovely sentiment. I also get what Aaron was saying about your voice...but you're almost there! Really, really nice job! There is something about this one that makes me want to chime in with harmonizing vocals....That's good!

This is a perfect song, congratulations. "One has become two" is a particularly good line!
Dig this a ton.

yeah, really nice justin, you have a great voice for this, and i think the longer you're at this, the better you'll get at singing, you have the voice, it's just a matter of losing your conditioned speaking voice which seems to affect what you're doing, except perhaps during the harmonies, does that make sense? the justin that is part conditioning, part age-linked, is still in the mix here, and when that falls away, and it's just self-expressing through voice, your stuff will take off. this is like 1960s folk for sure... good call on this, i usually shy away from traditional stuff like this, without reason, nice harmonies, definitely some post dylan/cannabis lennon in there... i have a bootleg of mccartney and elvis costello doing mostly acoustic demos of songs they wrote together in the 80s, this sounds like a song off that bootleg, not enough to be the same song or anything, but the harmonies around 1:40 are so similar, i think you'd dig it, if you want to hear it go to my myspace and email me:

Yeah, the lyrics fall short for me too. Maybe I'm too cynical. Think you should look up some of your words too...

The instrumental break is cool. Do you know how to work out vocal harmonies.? Seems like you go for an octave when a harmony would be cooler...

People often incorrectly throw the word "classic" around, but this is truly a classic folk song/love song. This song would have sounded exactly the same 50 years ago, and (hopefully) could be played 50 years from now in the same way and still be relevant! At first I was a little put off by the vocals, the way they slide into to notes sideways, but I adusted. This makes me want to learn the guitar so that I can sing and play this. Justin, change your last name to Guthrie! No one will know that you're lying! I hope we never get too jaded or cynical to appreciate the beauty of a simple love song. Superb.

not groundbreaking enough. but then again i'm biased against 'traditional music' unless if it's really funny. and this isn't really funny. it's not groundbreaking either. it kinda falls in the middle and feels like wallpaper to me. please don't be offended, it's really my problem not yours. I know a ton of people that would eat up this garbage
I've always liked the simplicity of folk and country music. There are times when complexity is unnecessary and this was my attempt to stick to old timey writing.

Here are the lyrics :

All my life I've longed for something pure and true
All my life I've longed for someone just like you
Baby that's true, Baby it's true

And if I care to tary in this world some more
I will not be wary it's you that I adore
Baby that's true, Baby it's true

And Baby can't you see, you'll always be with me
And Baby don't you know, I'll always love you so

There may come another, trying to change the ways
I will not be bothered, with you I'll always stay
Baby it's true, Baby that's true

Some may talk and criticize, the way I walk with you
But I will go publicize, one has become two
Baby it's ture, Baby that's true

I goofed when writing the second part of the second verse. I'm used to hearing people say how two become one whenever they are in love. I accidentally said one has become two to finish the rhyme with you but I decided to keep it because it still means the same thing. Please enjoy...or else.
