Oak Is Keeping - Oak is Keeping is the outcome of mixing heavy, guttural guitars with astral harmonies and brash lyrical content, about everything from love to the human condition. This mixture produces a rock and roll sound that has been compared to the likes of other Texas rock establishments, Toadies, …Trail of Dead and The Sword.

Can't stop listening to this song. I don't get the 70's comments though. Everything in the 70's had little or no restraint. This seems to have a good amount. Sounds like some dirty desert rock to me.

So far everything I've heard from these guys have been kick ass. I agree with some of the other comments about this stuff being rooted in 70's rock. At the same time that slide guitar sounds like "now". This song has bite.

Kudo's for that little piano outro! Well done.

I'm sucka for 70's rock, and I hear alot of that here. Also, hear some Urge Overkill in here. Love the harmony on the chorus. Great synth sireny thereminy sound thing. Like when the big guitar sound fills the room. Piano is cool contrast conjuring up a stabbing. Wish the drums were less floppy. And I want even more pronounced bass. I guess that means a beefier rhythm overall would make me happy. Lyrics, stops, sounds, parts, production, attitude: This is damn good rock. .

I don't love the song but I like the sound. I think the speed is perfect. My main beef is the riff could / should be more riffy, more muscular. It sounds like an afterthought.

aside from a few exceptions. This is probably one of the songs i feel really deserves to be on featured. Levels are good, production is good, everything sounds real tight.

this is really good. comes out swingin', but has enough dynamics in the arrangement to avoid listener fatigue. that being said, the last change-up with the piano came at just the right time. a good way to end the song.

This is a pretty powerful song. Opens up with a good kick in the face. I think the song could stand to be a bit faster. I like it a lot, just feels sluggish. I bet it's rad live.

holy #@&%! this is #@&%!in unbelievable, i feel like it's 1978 and i'm stoned and hearing led zeppelin or aerosmith or something for the first time, dudes, this is awesome, the only thing i would change on this is the piano thing at the end, i liked the use of the piano, but i felt it came in too abruptly and i was left with an awkwardness to handle after a perfect perfect groove

Tones are good...song not so much. I bet I would like it way better at about 8-12 BPM faster. But hey, I suck at life...
Verse 1
A man told me, Son,
to be thyself and,
only good things will come.
Then he showed me how to beg and steal and cheat.
Console me, cause I get what I take and I break what I love.

Chorus
Stab me in the front
Dont stab me in the back
Stab me in the front
Use a dull blade

Verse2
Fortune called me, I'm the next in line to take,
all the good things that will come.
Let me show you, how to beg and steal and cheat.
What would you do?
Cause I get what I take and I break what I love
