love the bass and drum part throughout, melody is very nice, but i'm hearing some strange distortion on the melody. The sustained sounds on the last verse is a great texture addition! lots of nice little weird rhtym textures.

Is the fuzzy vocal intentional? The blues guitar insert doesn't strike me as conducive to the overall sound, but Beck does that all the time. Not bad. 2/5

When i listened to this, i imagined your band playing outside, on a stage.....
The vocals ARE a bit crisp, but i like the feeling of this song. I hear some parts on the vocals also, where you go a bit flat, but it's not enough to make uncomfterble to the ear, mabye something to keep in mind when recording again.
Then...the guitar comes in.
In my head i now picture, again the band playing outside.
And the guitarist (he has a wireless rig)
He's on Mushrooms, and just walking around off stage, mabye in a feild a few feet away, kicking plants. Playing guitar.
And that's really cool.

The vox are a little crispy even after cleaning up from the 1st verse. There is some ambient noise in this that is distracting. It sounds like they tried to make this sound like vinyl. Maybe it is noise reduction pumping.I don't now. But these points are minor. The sound has a nice balance. This is a good song. Best guitar solo ever. Semi-skronk.

As sedrite points out elsewhere, most of these are grab the guitar from the heart on the sleeve guy and break it against the wall type songs. This isn't one of those songs, so it provides some nice variety a little different from the more "obvious choices."

I can't decide. I don't like the vocal, but I love the guitar and the feel. Also the lyrics are really good at times...that line "the mortal wound will it ever heal" and "Under her laws I have no rights" are really good.

I have to go with middle of the road here...the flat affectation on the vocal makes this not work for me, but everything else does.
