THE FULL SONG WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN POSTED, but a mistake was made and a podcast interview, www.ipodnla.com, about the song was posted instead. OOPS! GO TO www.myspace.com/augustrocks to hear the full song "Mulholland".

DENISE ROCKS!

that intro is from another song, what is it, spin doctors or something more recent... a lot of the riffs/tones are familiar, you have a nice voice, but i don't like the high breathy stuff, it's overdone. y'all seem like really nice people, but posting a commercial was kind of a bummer.... and i was also kind of bummed that you wanted to be picked up in a motorcycle, but sang about a '68 gto... overall, what little i was able to hear of the song, i thought it was catchy, and might be a nice radio treat, if it wasn't already so familiar which keeps my mind actively trying to remember what song(s) i'm thinking of, still i wish you the best of luck with this song and any others you have

that's me, the droll wet blanket! seriously though, I liked it better when the music was not playing.

that's droll, Itchy. Hmmmm, they claim it took twenty minutes to write the tune. Probably the first ten min were spent looking for a pencil.

Where'd the song go? I felt like I was listening to a college radio station doing an interview of the band. From what I heard of the song, it sounded OK, but the middle "promo" sucked. Please repost the whole song.

I wish this were produced like an old 70s pop record, because the vocals have that feel. Still, my toes tapped involuntarily, and this is good.

The drums are pretty out of time. That organ part is super lame. The breathy vocals are not for me. And Mulholland Drive is a tourist destination.

None for me, thanks...

Same chord progression as Run Around Sue, D'yer M'ker, and Crocodile Rock. Still I was digging it until it turned into a commercial. I ain't voting for no commercial.

i listened to the whole commercial and when the dude started talking I thought he was such a tool. then i realized the girl is a tool as well. I went to your myspace and checked out the guy who recorded it. I listened to HURT and I don't like that very much either. It's a good thing they didn't upload to redfizz. they sound like they're trying to be alot of bands. especially a perfect circle. or nascence for that matter.

anyway whoever mastered this took out too much midrange (your song) if this is as good as you think it is send it to someone else and ask for more midrange

The "commentary" turned me off too. You’re taking away are job. Our job is to comment, not yours!
I grew up in LA and to sing about "Mulhholland" sounds kind of silly to me.
The little I heard, though, sounded promising, just needed to hear more.
TIP: if you want to "comment" on your song, just throw it in the "lyrics" when you post the song or, alternatively, throw some parenthesis around your comment and stick it next to the title, for example: ("Live/demo motorcycle guy muscle car mix")

Because I hate cheesy funk/blues bands. This song is way too adult contemporary for me. I used to work in a department store and this is what I heard all day.

I liked the hint of Harriet Wheeler though.

The version of the song that WAS POSTED WAS FROM A PODCAST INTERVIEW WE DID from www.ipodnla.com. The WHOLE song/mp3 was supposed to have been posted!

mulholland is a scenic stretch of road that winds through the hollywood hills of los angeles to the beautiful city of malibu. laurel, coldwater, topanga, and kanan are canyons off of mulholland....two of those lead to the pacific ocean.
