ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

Man, I've murdered people to some embarrassing back drops. This one guy fell asleep, and the tv was on and this infomercial for a do-wop box set was on, I murdered him to the big bopper. I murdered a girl to the titanic theme song. i wont murder anyone to this

i like it good enough. i would also say it's been done before, and it's been done better. now that you sound close to what somebody else sounds like, you should try to sound like what you sound like. you can do it, lads!

there's a lot of talent here, but this song and type of music does nothing for me, it doesn't uplift me, just wears me out... i'd drop the intro, it detracted from it for me, the song starts at :56 seconds, and i think it'd make a better intro by itself... decent song, probably great for it's fan base...

have to agree with some of your points, sing. when this "genre" first got big, i liked a lot of what i heard. but after a while i just wanted to listen to the bands these bands were influenced by. if i wanna hear dark rock, i'll listen to joy divison, not a band that kinda sounds like them. (i'm referring to interpol here, not avra).

that said, i don't dislike this song, but it's not grabbing me at all. i can see loads of people liking it though, and i think it's doing pretty much what it set out to do. solid guitar playing and i liked the build at the intro.

Ok. I think im starting to better understand why i don't like this style of music really.

It seems a lot of the vocals in these kinds of bands are very alike. There is a lazy type of vocal delivery, i know it's MEANT to be that way, but it's kinda the same
Interpol, Killers, The Vines, Hot Hot Heat style. YES they are unique in their own ways, but for the most part it's that
"im kind of on heroine, singing this out of key on purpose"

Another thing i don't necessarily like, is the guitar tone, it's often EXACTLY the same. A simple guitar progression, played throughout the whole song, with a simple catchy little lead. Not bad by theory, but it's just wearing a bit thin with me. Since i've joined this website i've opened up to a lot of different styles, one of the more cool finds for me, was being more open to good indie.

I still don't like this retro, throwback crap. Whatever it is.

I don't know, drums sound sub par too. Nothing interesting ever happens there.

There is nothing here that sets it apart enough for me to ever want to check this band out again.
