Heavy Metal Airplane - Scientific research indicates that Heavy Metal Airplane originated in Atlanta as long as 3,000 years ago. Some indie pop historians believe that Heavy Metal Airplane came first from the Arctic Circle and then migrated to Georgia. It has also been suggested that Heavy Metal Airplane came about through a crossing of Rem Lezar and two pigs (which were VERY attractive) from the northern parts of Siberia. However, other sources claim that Heavy Metal Airplane was an original ancestor of Laura Veirs, Neko Case, Elliott Smith, and Fleetwood Mac, and perhaps even Grizzly Bear.

Your a pretty girl, but maybe leave some of your presence to the imagination, its very effective...the imagination. Not crazy about the 'phasing' or whatever effect is on the vocals when the band is in. The group comes in with a lot of ferocity to cut out again... gallop track is a little weird. Like the words for the most part. Would love to hear some wet tones/sounds accompanying parts of this. Ending is effective

Anyhow, this is another great tune, i want to hate your stuff so bad, becuase your young and much more talented than me, but i can't, your too good.

Are you kidding me? The time in this is incredible. Fantastic guitar playing. The voice connects completely. Beautiful. The lyrics are so personal. I am afraid to listen. I would listen to this if it was recorded on rock with a dirt microphone.

nasty. If he were light I could sorta see you holding him by the hair, and then sorta pushing him by the shoulders to twist him round. And then eventually he'd kinda untwirl, like when I untwirl my phone cord at work.

interesting, i was thinking they were ghosts actually, spirits tend to do that, impersonate known characters in our life in dreams... i had one pretending to be anthony hopkins a couple months ago, i didn't realize it while i was dreaming so i kept trying to kill him by twisting his head around and around, dangling him from my balcony... love and compassion works wonders... sometimes, if they catch me off guard, and i'm having trouble being loving, because i'm too defensive, i'll sing 'all you need is love' by the beatles and that works to give me leverage, then i can get into mode... that's when they're being meddlesome, some of them are nice, ultimately they all need help.

That is quite the jump-go-geteeyup chorus that is perhaps a bit too out of the dark. If you opened the song with that chorus it definitely would not be as startling. Regardless, you are talented.

No, it turned out they were ghosts that came to life via movie characters on that same day every twenty years to try and overcome some sort of conflict or something. I somehow foiled that for them and, like, re-banished their souls to hell once more or whatever.

Wow, thank you so much for the feedback...

Funny you said that about punk rock, Aaron-- I was in and out of punk bands for years before I started doing acoustic stuff on my own. I played guitar and sang in one for more than three years, and we're actually probably starting up again just for the hell of it... I'm also a drummer, backup singer, and producer for my brother's punk/rock/hardcore band.

I've never listened to Luscious Jackson, but I have an Elliott Smith tattoo.

Melissa Etheridge and Elijah Wood having a love child? I think we need to have a little talk about the bees and the bees.

Once I get my equipment out here, you can expect a much better sound quality from my submission. In the meantime, though, thank you so much for understanding. I always love hearing what you guys have to say. I've been very pleasantly surprised by the reactions to this song so far, I wasn't expecting such a good reception.

Anyway, I just want you to know that last night I had a dream that I went to see a movie called Titanic: The Fairy Tale starring Sally Field and Robin Williams, and they came out of the screen and murdered all of my friends with weapons from Soul Caliber II.

cool tune, soft and sentimental. Dig the rawness, unhyped attitude you exude.

like if Elliott Smith (rip) and one of the ladies from Luscious Jackson had mated, and the offspring grew up, learned guitar, started writing songs and recording them on a karaoke machine, they'd sound a lot like you, methinks.

I've been combing through your catalog trying to figure out who you remind me of, and it just hit me -- Luscious Jackson. Do you listen to them at all? I mean, you don't sound like a knock off or anything, but I could hear them doing all these songs. The style being melodic with a slightly urban twist.

Yeah, this song gets great when you double the vocals and add the claps. Handclaps are awesome.

I agree with groman, you deserve some crystal clarity. A lotta bands use lo fi as an excuse to sound crappy otherwise, but this is not the case with your tunes. If you don't have access to better recording equip that's fine, but I encourage it if you do.

brilliant... love all of it... you have such a gift, instinctually and vocally and musically... some artists have to get everything right to make their music accessible, or able to be fully appreciated...

the way i hear your music is that everything you do is right...

and uniquely you...

you could pause, cough, sneeze, make up words, mumble, do anything pretty much, and i imagine it would fit perfectly.

this is great. love the handclaps, takes your music in a new direction... i'd be curious to hear you do punk or rock or something just to see what that would sound like...

karaoke machines are great!

Relaxing.
i blew the sound card in my computer a few months ago, and i finally got a new one, but i just moved across the country and i don't have my computer, mic, et cetera here yet. but i couldn't take it any longer so... i recorded this on my sister's karaoke machine and mixed it on my mother's computer. i got as much fuzz and hiss out with cool edit as i could without making the whole thing sound muffled or tinny, but it's still pretty gritty, so listen with a grain of salt. maybe a cellar of salt.
