Animal Tropical - Fusing the wry and witty songcraft perfected by Steely Dan with tropicalia, rock, Animal Tropical's sound is super-danceable and, for all its quirkiness, goes over big with booty shakers of all colors, creed, and class.

Reminds me of the Abyssynian Baptist Choir. Good work.

Not bad at all, not exactly up my alley, but this is done, very very well.

oh so you're like, one of those dudes who listens to the lyrics.

Maybe Costello "did" this before, but if he were doing it now maybe people would still be listening to him.

i guess i'm alone, i like this version better, perhaps cause i can't really understand the lyrics, which turned me off the first time... this one is subtler all around, easier on my ears and brain...

I like the earlier version much more. What an honor to be compared with the great one.

Good tune, well played - but Costello has done is all before. Still, I expect a lot of kids have never heard of him so this could sound fresh to them. To me though it was a little stale and very dated. On the positive side it kinda took me back to my youth and the Marquee.

Hey Del, if you want to compare, they've got the previous version up here too. Both are great, I just think they nailed it on the first one, and maybe over thought it a hair on this mix. Still a fantabulous song. The bleeding edge vocals and the louder piano are what sold me on the previous mix. But I'm probably just splitting hairs.

Awesome. Happy to hear you aren't form fixated freaks like a lot of the critics seem to be (I don't understand where you're going with this). I wasn't worried about where you were going with it - I was just having a great time riding along. Nice to hear something that sounds original and rocks.
I never heard the previous version, but I'd say the vox need to stand out a little more - a couple more dB's, but more importantly, slightly eq out from the other instruments (especially the guitar) the freq's in the vox range.
Keep it up. Stay original

I agree itchy, the original is the stronger version. This one is just toned down a notch.

crap, you mean this isn't rock? I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number. Goodbye.

I'm pretty sure I have, but I will anyway. They know how to make a song that rocks, without the rock. The music isn't something I would expect to enjoy, but I do anyway...I can't help it. They've got something of their own happening.

ok, so I keep going back and forth between these versions. This is still great, but it feels like you took a bit of the punch out with this mix. It's still 2:05, and some of the parts sound identical, so it's mostly just a re-mix, right? The pianos seem louder in the other one. Actually, I think all the instuments do. Here's they're more understated, but I think the other mix supports the song much better. It should sound crazy, desperate. What's definitely noticeable is the singer sounds like someone told him to cool it a bit. "Stop sounding so desperate!". Oh all right...

I heard this version first, and usually the one you hear first is the one you like better, but in this case I like the one I heard second (which I guess is the first version!). On the first one the singer sounds like he's pulling his hair out as he's singing.

Anyway, it's a fine, fine song. I just prefer the first mix. Please put the first one on your album! Is there an album?

Exuberant. Costello meets the Good Times theme.

I hope the rest of your music is like this.

Personaly, I don't understand where you are going with this.

I suppose that the loose feeling of this song is intentional though, or at least I hope so.

I also hope that the rest of your music is not like this.

I do mean that with respect.

And I do hear some Costello maybe even, dare I say, Elton John?

Anyways... the piano is nice but this song is somehwere in outer space, lost.
