yeah, it would be no easy feat. I don't know that a similarity to the iron butterfly part takes away...

interesting song, as usual. I'd like to trade cd's sometime if you're up for it.

I liked the vocal effect in the beginning. I find some of the sound choices to not be quite right. The bowed bass is a cool idea but actually is bit strident. The middle part is my favorite part. The piano and guitars are a time tested duo.I kinda dig the retro synth vibe of the third part, but really wish it were a little softer and organic sounding. This song is conceptually symphonic in the sense that it has different movements (sort of, even though the tempo remains the same). I think Abandoned Brain aims high. That is a good thing.

Not being a listener of this type of music I'll approach this as I would any other song. First, I think there are some good ideas here to work with. The drum track could be better but what first struck me was the faraway sound of the vocals in real contrast to the rest of the mix. I think it might sound better with some clever fx and brought up real close. Second, the middle break I wasn't crazy about, sounded kinda weak but you did get in and out of that rather smoothly. The tone on the keyboard, that last bit that keeps repeating, it was one of those frequencies that my ear cannot tolerate for more than a few seconds, and you never got back to the strongest part of the song which imo was the beginning part.

Kinda like REM walking in on Beck when he's really toasted in his home studio. I think it could be done better (the drums in particular are weak, and so are the high vocals) but - better than the other guy. You win.
