Animal Tropical - Fusing the wry and witty songcraft perfected by Steely Dan with tropicalia, rock, Animal Tropical's sound is super-danceable and, for all its quirkiness, goes over big with booty shakers of all colors, creed, and class.

the first song they submitted, seashell, was super-tight and in the pocket, which is key for this kind of music. everything since then has been sloppier and sloppier. yeah, i know, it's a demo, but so is my review.

this could be great, id say its still a cut above the average, but its just not special. I was a big fan of your other songs but this just isnt what ive come to expect from you guys in song quality.

Will B, Ill stand with you, im not afraid to give stars.

My beer must be getting weaker, i find myself agreeing with QC lately. I can't understand the lyricssounds like a recording of the worst cotton mouth ever. The music strays from your last few recordings and it sounds incredibly like you redoing an old English Beat ska tune. It was dissipointing compared to what we have been used to hearing from you guys. No one has posted stars yet, they appear not to want to, but i ai'nt skeered.

god, i hate doing this (like i know any better) but... ok.
first, you guys display talent and ability that is way above. i like the world beaty feel of this. however, i think it needs some arrangement tweaking and another instrument or two in the mix.
my recommendations: in order to court the attention span of the listener, cut the intro to 4 bars, 8 at the most. the interlude between verses might not be too long if there is killer soloing going on. you may want to rethink the effectiveness of the singalong that starts at 2:45. could be cool live but not in my non-ipod. it's beating me over the head with over-somethingness. again, the out sequence may need to be shorter unless there is some kind of blistering sax solo going on or something. lyrically, it's hard to comprehend but that could be because it has personal meaning that i don't quite get or because i'm just dense. finally, i'd like to know what you guys, in the band, think about this one. do you think it needs this or that? if so, what are you planning to add/subtract? you know, like, if you want to talk about it...

Not as fun as your other stuff. Sounds unfinished to me. Seems very stiff in the playing.

This is defintely a rough draft. It's rough. The timing is messy, starts out too fast then slows around 1:08 to a comfortable pace then speeds back up and sounds rushed and forced. The song should end here but the crescendo(3:20ish) musically and lyrically is monotonous and continues to be that way through the end. just cut it off and clean it up and resubmit.

it's just too much of itself, like a tangled ball of yarn, like they're all crammed into a vw clown bug, the attitude is a bit too loose, so everything seems, despite the ideas being sound, to clash, for me, and it becomes a struggle to listen, even though i want to tap my foot and enjoy it. i agree, seashell is tight, not my favorite of theirs, cause the joy to the world vibe was a bit too evident, but they seemed to be playing together back then, carefully, there was enough space within the song, to listen to the different instruments, and they jived well...

as usual, i like this band, but the tune didn't do anything for me... knowing me, i should like it more, but i don't....

sometimes it works when you can't understand a single thing the singer's singing. but here it's sorta frustrating. enunciate, stoner!

I'm sure that someone has something important to say about this song!
A demo of some new material. It's just some music. Enjoy!
