ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

This is great. Even though there is plenty going on it doesn't sound too "busy" or overcrowded - even has the occassional sparse moment. Steely Dan-esque as others have mentioned but I think the voice has a more soulful feel to it than Fagan which complements the music well. Would have been five stars if it hadn't been for the drums.

wife likes this one, typically she says things like "that's horrible" "aggh, shut that off" when i play fizz songs on the laptop... that's high praise... said it reminded her of atlanta rhythm section a bit

Don't know about Muscle Shoals, or even the Memphis Horns, but one can occasionally spot a member of Tower of Power around here.

I'll look in the box and see if there are any more horns in there. Any suggestions re the fx on the vocal? More, less, same? I was gonna bring the level down a tad and I was planning on bring the the wah guitar up. Not sure if anyone noticed the other guitar drops out at some point. I plan to redo that guitar part with a fender or a crisper setting. It's a sad day here at the Brown home. Our pet rat Wimbledon (Wimbles, Ms. Ratty) had to be euthanized (sp?) today, by me, :-(

The piano is great. it's cool that it was inspired by redfizz. Maybe you can make a buyer theme song...

Pulled off some total coolness. Dig the local references in the lyrics I made out. That's cool how you approached the song writing from a different direction.

Thanks Buyer for the inspiration. It was totally refreshing to write this starting from a suggestion instead of some sophomoric need to express myself. Surprisingly still, it is the most straightforward autobiographical piece I've done. It has been a valuable exercise. Bratty, the west side reference is to West Oakland's Campbell Village projects.

this song rolls like a 64 impala with 28" glas-paks, wrap-around bellflowers and astro supremes! instantly classic and classy. question: does every city have a "west side"? in fresno, the west side is where the funk is found, baby!

This is quite enjoyable. I agree, there is a Steely Dan-type of cool here. Can't deny the style and smoothness --"and that's a fact!' Cruise on, dude!

i said it before, i think, you could slip this onto Steely Dan's album without a snag... that is not to say i think you're copping them, but it's just that smooth... definitely one of my favorite submissions of yours... when i finally get around to making redfizz cds for the car, this is getting layed down for cruising... impeccable all the way around, extra 1/2 star cause i could listen to this repeatedly in the same day and dig it just as much each time
