Animal Tropical - Fusing the wry and witty songcraft perfected by Steely Dan with tropicalia, rock, Animal Tropical's sound is super-danceable and, for all its quirkiness, goes over big with booty shakers of all colors, creed, and class.

the mix could be a litte bit better.('they found a head rollin around in the desert, you have to tell the guy he has to do things a LITTLE bit better") but an mp3 is an mp3. the song itself is a classic. Isrealis on the Beach, comes out of that Ancient Furnace where
great songwriting is created, a gumbo of groove and letter perfect lyric. it has a fat groove with a bottom that springs right back at you. the lyric is clever and to the point.
5 stars.

This is a great song, nicely performed. Truly, in my opinion, there is no better actual band posting on Fizz. But this recording suffers. Putting the bass in the left channel only is an unfortunate mistake. The entire mix seems over compressed and small, lacking in volume. I think a simple remix could make this a big time classic, on the same level as say, Steely Dan. I don't get the Tommy Keene reference, but it is nice to hear someone outside of Cackalacky make it. The pic is a HUGE image improvement. Please guys, let me remix your tune. And I will ride your slingshot to fame and fortune.

One of this band's better submissions, I think. I, too was sometimes wishing for more vocal clarity, as I feel I can not fully appreciate the whole song without understanding the lyrics....But I don't mind the Clash/Tommy Keene sound of the vocals; and overall, a pretty good amount of energy packed into this one...Nice job.

just trying to explain something i can't explain... but i'm certainly not going to interfere with the stars. it's a well-deserved feature, and i'm sure the stars are well-deserved as well, I know you guys don't go throwing them around.

mmm, not sure i agree on that, but i agree the composition and some of the playing rocks, but overall, this is missing something serious for me, and i'm not grabbed even though i wanna be... it may just be my state of mind this morning, or it may be subtle timing issues, or the base playing, or something, but i don't think it's nearly as good as it should be given the artists involved and the creativity of the song.

you need to get over your demands for lyrical clarity.

this song rocks.

the first 30 seconds are really strong, musically, and it stays strong, but i would like the vocals a little more stronger in the mix, i'm listening on headphones, and it's either your singing style or the mix itself, or both, because they aren't clear enough to really appreciate, or understand, sometimes, the lyrics...

i think this is a really good song, but as it is, i can't enjoy it's potential, and it starts feeling tired to me, rather than engaging. it seems like you're working hard, here, and there's energy in the song, but somehow it's not getting me, despite that, intellectually, i think you have a really great work here.

vocals felt very clash-like. recording felt a bit flat (as in- it didn't give a very full feeling). overall, though, it was a really nice song.
