Super laid-back jazzy and swanky! I can see Pepe Le Peu in a French nightclub, sipping a Mimosa, and staring unnervingly at the little black cat with the stripe down her back...She would be getting quite nervous if she wasn't already half-way to getting full-on drunk...Methinks she'll have her regrets come the morning's first light....Meeeoooww!

Wayne, you've got something unique about your work that I respect; thinking up criticism seems quite useless. I like it though it's not my usual cup of decaf...Don't listen to these crapazoids and these crapitolists...Do your own thing, 'cause it 's workin'.

Leaving the various crap I've been spewing all night aside for a moment:

Actually WM, i yay'd itchy's comment, hence the line:

Bloody hell, someone yay'd itchy's comment, tut, tut, that's someone just trying to stirr trouble...

people obviously haven't picked up at this point that I'm about as sarcastic as they come and do love to stirr trouble as much as I can, I boo'd bringdown's comment that was featured at the time and then I yay'd someone elses, I can't remember whos, I've lost track, I think it might have been Jim Pearson's original featured comment, so long story short, I said yay for itchy and jim, boo for bringdown and finally I added a yay for your own, 'I AM the crappalizer, Bratty' comment because I thought it was quite funny.

I yay'd itchy's comment because, while I didn't agree with them, he made a few valid points, and he took the time to give some in depth feedback (allbeit he took the time 6 months ago)

I boo'd bringdown because at the time he was featured and to be honest, I thought his comment was wasting space at the top of the page, nothing personal or against his opinions, it just said nothing about the track, wasn't that funny, and I thought some of the other comments were a little more valid.

I've left for an hour and by jesus this has gotten a little out of control in such a short time, I don't think I've ever seen so many boo's on a page.

Anyway, time to step out of this. again, a great song, and apologies for contributing to the sudden and active hijacking of your feature page.

at no point was any sweat lost, I can assure you. Clearly the comment was booed to de-feature it.

the reviews here are as much for passers by to read and comment on as they are for the song submitter. I had nothing new to add for your eyes, that's true, but I felt my comments were valid and so I posted them here for some contrast. That was my point.

But if you want more, like it's too slow, kinda boring, well played but not really enjoyable, I could oblige.

yeah itchy, i didn't even pay attention to the lyrics... it's true, the lyrics aren't all great, and i agree that's what the song needs to take it better... but the sound wows me.... 'keeps your distance' is a good line here. "sip your mimosa" is a nice image and perfect for the arrangement.

I just found it funny rep, that someone yayed my comment, then quickly someone else gave it a big fat boo. I only have one account here so I know it wasn't me. So I was all like, ooo. People commenting mostly like the song, and that's great. But then someone (me) comes along and posts a review that isn't glowing and it gets a boo. Just found it funny. Like, sorry to interupt your little love fest, scoob.

Yes, semireptilian, it does say something that you didn't notice the verbed guitar at the beginning: it says you weren't paying attention.
And WM is not kidding when he says he IS the crappalizer. This could have been even crappier if he had turned up the levels on himself.

Bloody hell, someone yay'd itchy's comment, tut, tut, that's someone just trying to stirr trouble...

I HATE verbed guitar, note ringouts, and I didn't even notice them on this 'til 2nd listen, so that should say something. I loved the alternating q'ing on the vocals, and nicely panned, sound like something I would have done - the effect, not the vocals :) the performance is also excellent, and the track was extreamly captivating, I was even sorry when it ended (hence the second listen).
Great performance, great flow, great track.

A personal favourite from Mr. Monges' corner of the Wibbly, Wobbly, Wonder and a very well deserved feature.

I think this is the first song I've ever given 5 stars to.

It's really good. Two ideas though, the sax would be sweet with a bunch of reverb, and if the tempo was up just a little, it could be like a Elliot Smith song during the chorus. Cool the way it is too

welp, I'm feeling very copy and pasty today so I will c&p my review from garageband, dated 01/12/2007:

(title)
mimosa is a great word, but it can't carry a song
(review)
the music is ok. I feel the sultry smokey mood you're going for but something here misses. Maybe its the lyrics. they're almost interesting, but not quite. Of course your best rhyme / line is the part about sipping a mimosa. That's probably the most exciting thing about the song. I want more of that in the song. The rest of the rhymes and phrases are forgettable, and I think that's what this song needs.

it's, well, it's too good. it would be better if it wasn't so good. can you make it less good? like maybe do a really sloppy remix and run it through a crappalizer or something? add some really bad dr. rhythm drum sounds! that'll do it. just crap it up big and you'll be onto something. crappy.

The lyrics are awesome (along with the perfect mood carried by the song)
Was a little up and down about the sax solo, but it works so damn well...IDK
