ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

The Illegals - The ILLEGALS Comprised of musicians with a pedigree of old school Boston bands including The ATLANTICS KENMORES AND AMERICAN PULVERIZER. The ILLEGALS pay homage to that ground breaking era while taking it into a new direction. Band members have performed everywhere from The Rat to Richfield Coliseum.
The dues have been paid and the band is The ILLEGALS.
FRED PINEAU-Guitar. Fred is best known as lead guitarist of old school legends The ATLANTICS and can be heard on hits such as Lonelyhearts,When You're Young, Wrong Number and Pop Shivers.
The ATLANTICS toured with ROXY MUSIC, CHEAP TRICK, TALKING HEADS,RAMONES and many others. Prior to that, Fred was a member of BONJOUR AVIATORS a Boston band who were part of the original New York scene in 1975, performing at CBGB'S and Max's Kansas City on bills with bands such as Television, TALKING HEADS, JOHNNY THUNDERS and The DEAD BOYS. From there he went on to another original Boston alternative band, THIRD RAIL. After the break up of The ATLANTICS, Fred went into production and has performed selectively with bands such as The SYPHLLOIDS and retro alternative band The KENMORES
RAY FERNANDES-Drums/Vocals. Also known as "Rayboy" is another veteran of The ATLANTICS having played on the ABC Records album "Big City Rock" and the MCA Records release of "One Last Night", Ray was the drummer on the ROXY MUSIC and CHEAP TRICK tours as well as many other concert dates.
Ray was a founding member of the Boston supergroup PRIMARY COLORS and band consisting of members from other popular bands like LA PESTE,The NEIGHBORHOODS, PASTICHE, and of course, The ATLANTICS. He currently owns and operates TRIPLE B STUDIOS and has engineered and produced some of the best known hip hop artists of the genre such as Akrobatik, Mr Lif and many more. Ray is currently producing The ILLEGALS'1st full length album in addition to producing a new Boston rock compilation featuring many of Boston's best bands.
MARK KENNEDY-Vocals. A Quincy native Mark has been a Boston alternative scene fixture since 1984, when after four years of sneaking into clubs to see punk and alternative bands, he finally at the age of 18 began singing for Strange Flesh. Over the years, Mark has been in the trenches belting out alternative punk with Boston bands such as VIVISECT, TOECUTTER, FACTS ABOUT RATS, BLOWJOB, DEFROCKT, The KENMORES & NOTHING. Mark brings a long history of performing in the very best seedy clubs that Boston has to offer, and as the front man/singer for The ILLEGALS provides an experience not soon forgotten.

PATRICK"ROCKIT"MOYNIHAN-Bass. Pat has had more than 20 years of experience and is one the most sought after bass players in the Boston area. Prior to his joing forces with The ILLEGALS..he has been a member of many Boston area bands including AMERICAN PULVERIZER, KENNY CHAMBERS and was also a member of GIMANTIS for over 2 years. and who also has a song on the soundtrack of the soon to be classic B Horror movie Die You Zombie Bastards.(in which he played bass) a very big deal to be sure!!!!!! In addition to playing with the ILLEGALS, "Rockit" is also a member of another great Boston band.. The TENAFLY VIPERS. One thing's for sure.. wherever this "Rockit" lands, he brings the Rawk. The ILLEGALS feel very fortunate to be working with him.
DAVID FISCHER-Guitar As the newest member of The ILLEGALS...and joining the band in March of 2007, David brings a whole new dimension to The ILLEGALS as he adds depth in providing a bigger and wider sound. This guy is one awesome guitarist!!!

Now this is the Boston I know and love!!! Sure, it's straight up bully boy punk but that's what's great about it. No other town sounds like this and these guys give it to you just the way you wanna hear it. Raw and tough. They sound like they'd kick your ass and then pick you up off the floor and put a beer in front of you. Good stuff.

With the exception of the vocals, which i liked, this was pretty much like 'punk-rock by numbers' to these ears. In saying that, I turned off after about a min, so maybe it got more original. and do you know what! I'm not really being serious, I actually really enjoyed it, although my 'punk-rock by numbers' statement still stands. I'll look forward to another from you, see what you've got!

Listening to it from the other room, I at first could only get a feel for the music because I couldn't make out the lyrics...I liked that enough to want to hear all the fine points I'd been missing...Love the almost Micheal Bruce-like guitar licks(Alice Cooper) Lyrics were fun, energy and sound reminded me of the Beastie Boys). The repitition of the lyrics is set off by the shortness and economy of the song. A real sense of abandon captured here...Excellent recording...For group vocals(or layered) this is really quite good!

yeah, total opening scene/intro of the movie as the various characters in the film are shown doing whatever it is they do... partying, moving into college dorms, whatever... inspiring tune, give this to the right person and they would make a movie just to feature the song.

this has a great vibe and sound to it... perfect punk rock type song for a major current film set in high school/college where general mayhem and alcoholic sexual freedom is celebrated... this almost makes me feel foolish enough to go out and behave that way again. i downloaded in case the mood ever strikes... (or who knows what repeated listens might do?)
