ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

We Is Shore Dedicated - Like in some Earth Science Pulp novel, 2 or 3 huge rocks metamorphized into a whole other specie. Sam Tsitrin, of the SF art-prog trio the Ebb and Flow, and Dmitry Ishenko, the famed NYC and Boston jazz bass player, working with engineer and drummer Chris Cline of Scrabbel made WE IS SHORE DEDICATED, in 3 days of January 2007. Chicken hawks were seen in the area. Hide them, Hilda, we have to move quick!

it's really cool that people make music and share it

I don't think the vocal should necessarily "project" more, cuz you might lose a very original, jazzy, nuanced, engagingly subtly theatrical singing style that isn't just trying to sound "cool" like so many competing singers, but you (the singer,Penchkin) SHOULD take into account that your voice doesn't cut easily through the mix, so make sure other musical parts (particularly trebly electric guitar parts during verses) don't overtake the vocals. Here's a possible time-saving tip for future recordings: find tons of intrumental-only moments in music by others and record yourself riffing/singing over it. Figure out which musical textures best work under your favorite way to sing, then use those textures as a point of departure on future mixes/songs. Also, if you don't already do so, use as much compression (and updated versions like the plug-in "Maxim") on voice as you can get away with (without sacrificing too much dynamicism) so you have the option to crank the vocals loud in the final mix.

man, i wish the vocals could project more, but hell, when i try to project it sounds like a wild turkey in tumbling in a dryer. Thanks for your comments!

Chorus was really good... the rest was just OK.

really sweet intro, dig the chorus... reminds me of 'hit me with your best shot', i like that. the second verse was nice, and lyrically good, but energetically low... started to lose me until you picked up the energy again with the chorus. third verse seemed to carry some of the energy from the chorus and i was more tuned in... if i were to do anything to the song, i'd say do something to pick up the second chorus, somehow... it's just the lull in a nice.

i like the line "i've been looking for an easy love, today"

i think with some work you'd have a memorable hit here, maybe even drop the second verse... the last part of the song is the peak, that's the part that hints at fame

Pretty enjoyable, a bit long though, and I would have liked the chorus vocals to project a bit more forcefully than the verse parts.

Big fan of the song. Not so keen on the recording.

the 7-beat part reeled me in.

E high - A high e open
I've been looking for easy love , today ,
Can you fit me in,
What's on your plate today, comeon
can you squeeze me in,
like a like a triangle fin, comeon like a tongue in cheeck.
I've been looking for easy love today, comeon early love.

People turn mean, when gravelled by the bitter wind,
Sharks infest the heart, want to hurt to be on top
Everyone is veined, so-called sinner so-called saint,
organs pump love, if the freezeout comes they stop.

it's getting hard to meet,
whose lips are pink,
whose hands are warm with breath,
whose face has seen the sun, and didn't shy away.
Long live Grant Green, his guitar is the link I'll miss,
as soundtrack fades, and we have to break face,
Short is the path, from a handsqueeze to the final laugh,
Love Epitaph, make sure it is rough enough,
it's getting hard to break,
whose lips are pink
whose eyes are brown and sad,
whose body never coils, and doesn't hide it's head
(it's getting hard to clean and break someone
who doesn't shy away, who doesn't hide the head)
