what, you have death wish for this site QC? The way I figure it, you only need to piss off about 5 more people and traffic on this site will come to just about nought. If that's what you want: go for it.

The style definitely reminds me of someone - can't put my finger on it at the moment though. Lopes along nicely, but there isn't enough going on dynamically to justify a four minute + song. Needs some variation or to lose a minute.

And I've long suspected that partialreptile was another Brit - now it's confirmed. Only a Brit (or a serious anglophile) would use "wanker"!

People seem to be getting very agrivated over the smallest things. I call people names all the time, and they don't get this pissed off (well, not all the time anyway) In fact, You're a Wanker! no one in particular, just YOU! Yeah you know I'm talking to you.

okay, if i pissed off mild-mannered scott t, i must have been out of line. i offer my full and complete apology, except to those of you who are actually #@&%!s (you know who you are). regarding this song, i finally realized what the verse melody reminds me of: "the kids are alright!" except unlike the who, you didn't manage to resolve the tension in a satisfying chorus. maybe you didn't want to. either way, leaves my balls slightly blue.

that's funny, wordgirl. I also thought of Bowie's "Heroes" while listening to this. Another song that unapologetically sticks to a simple, kindof dumbed-down groove. BTW I have a story behind that song for your forum thread

we could be heroes...just for one day. I like the looseness here. something isn't quite happening like it should, I feel. But I do like the bones here and think you could mix up the music a bit, add some omph to the vocals, be a little less laid-back--The guitar parts were a bit sophmoric, but that can improve with time...

no it's definitely not a tone issue. Just a too much sameness issue. But sometimes monotony can be cool. You know what this reminds me of? Velvet Underground...something like "Waiting for my man" Here's the groove and we ain't coming off it!

I have no problems voting against people: I'll vote against some people for the fact I know they're getting 100% in the battles due to clubby issues.

ah well

yeah, this is true... even if unintentional, this is true, it's an uncomfortable feeling to vote against a 'friend', and, you tend to open your mind and gain an appreciation for an artist you 'know'.... one more reason i'm looking to the end of battles as we know it... of course, stars will still be skewed, you'll have to get rid of stars, and comments would have to be anonymous... OR, better yet, when you make a comment, what if Redfizz randomly chose a username to attach to your comment, so you didn't know if you'd get your own name attached, or someone else's, it could be a 50/50 shot? that would be a fun experiment ;)

that's not quite it. i think the song's okay. but it's a masterpiece compared to 75% of the #@&%! back there. there's just just a lot of clubby voting going on, in my opinion.

i think qualcomm's comment is really two separate statements. (1) he can't believe that a song he actually likes could come so close to being rejected. (2) he thinks we are #@&%!s. it's cool. i thought my uncle nick was an #@&%! for the longest time because he was old and he liked jazz. i was wrong.

really catchy tune. I really like the little leading notes in the bass part. Maybe you could come off the straight eigth note chugging for just a moment by adding a short bridge with a syncopated riff, you know what I mean? The singing, though imperfect, has a really appealing laid back quality to it. If you could get somebody to sing the harmony line with you it would probably work fine. Extra bonus points for playing in the key of Db. I especially like the surprise B chord that comes around on the tag line, after all the I IV V that precedes it.

good singing... i get what bratty is saying... this is cool the way it is... but 4 minutes of the guitar is a bit long without being trance inducing. the subtley of the vocal delivery reminds me of itchybrother, where is he lately, making more babies? maybe just shorten? i enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this, I even took a trip to your myspace page. The fact that this is one man and his under-funded army of musical treats gets you extra stars. Could use a little bit of umph! here and there to break it up, buut really enjoyable and I think I shall have to disagree with your 'I'm not a very good singer' statement. Okay, I probably wouldn't like to hear you attempting a Nick Cave balad but theres a unique and friendly style in there, and your voice suits the style of music.

Nice Work.

well, the lyrics and vocals are nice but the instrumental parts are boring. the all downstroke guitar thing and everything stuck on the eighth notes gets to you after a while. i like jordan the band and i think it's a pleasant enough song but i can totally understand why it came close to a below 50% record. there have been some really tough battles in there lately. #@&%!.
