huh?, it does make sense after all. thanks for the background info. lately i've been interested in just how much lyrical footing you need to give people so they can grasp a particular song. your song is pretty slippery to everyone outside of your small circle there.
yeah, alpine tanker 11 -- that fadded picture of a guy, i think i liked that band. that's too bad they moved away.

Yeah the lyrics are very obscure. They have to do with sounding good. Like you said. And they are vaguely based on experiences I've had with my previous band Alpine Tanker 11. Which for the record, I absolutely loved. Members moved away. The beginning has to do with a drunken conversation we had in my parents garage back when I lived there. The joists are the exposed roof frames. Anyway, the meaning isn't really supposed to be inferred by anyone but me i guess. The inspiration was a particularly bad show we had at the elbow room in ypsilanti. We were stuck playing with a bunch of emo bands and did not fit in. The pusher is Mike Calamungi, the drummer. The big man is dan, bassist, who was awesomely wild at shows, and was known to give a good sportsman pat on the ass. Sleeves refers to nick, the guitar player, who has tattood sleeves. We had a wild party at his house later that week, where his and my sister showed up and danced to some music on a floor where a wet ashtray was spilled. They were in their socks, which were wet with nasty cigarette water. They were too drunk to care. Anyway, thanks for the comments.

I think the sand crab line is my favorite. I was trying to go for meaningless advice.

this is solid tune.
i love the lead guitar tone/part.
the "then I tell the..." is a great device."
the repeat on the "did it hurt this time" is really strong too.

the lyrics are interesting but might be a little too enigmatic. some people put more importance on the "meaning" of lyrics than on the "sound" of lyrics. personally, i think the way lyrics "sound" is more important, and i think your lyrics work soundwise. just maybe a little more work to connect the good sounding words/fragments so that they at least point the listener in a particular direction where they can find their own meaning would really improve this for me. like putting two dots in a circle on an abstract drawing and the viewer's will turn that into a face.
of course, i might just be missing the meaning.

Wish the lyrics were more out front, and easier to make out...but I kind of like the "fuzzy" sound of the vocals too...Maybe ease up just a tad? I liked when it started getting all intense, and the guitar solo was very organic and "oozed coolness." I liked the lyric, "did it hurt this time?" Pretty neat song, in all.. The hell if I know what it's about, but all the more enigmatic a song it is for that. I like collages, word, or otherwise...

oh well, you didn't really turn the beat around
you just have one measure cut in half right before the
guitar solo starts. It's cool!

Thanks for the comments as always. I do listen. Being second staged is cool, I kind of like it here. I get nervous on the feature page. Did I really turn the beat around? whoops.

love the use and delivery of the word "technology"

as much as i dig the sound of the recording, it might ultimately defeat the recording, not sure...

I gotta say, you're a little 120 minutes for me sometimes, but I love your energy. it's a cool sound and all, but a little I dunno, messy? Does that make sense? You're tight but that fuzzy fuz thing you've got drives me a little nuts. But that's ok- It's your tastes right?

wow you turned the beat around a few times there. Was that contrived or did it just happen. Sounds very organic.
setting up the jump like marlow
walking on the broken joists
looking up sometimes to fall below

white streaks the birds leave fly
all expenses paid or due
I will spend my time just to be with you [for some reason this sounds like "the jew" not sure why though]

Then I tell the sand crab to walk beside the ocean
then I tell my headphones technology that's new
stand to the left of the hand of reason
check the red lights for sound

on the floor of sleeves house there's a carpet swinging door
the floor was painted on with liquid ash that's on the floor
the sister there were dancing and their socks were soaking more

then I tell the pusher to help convince the people
then I tell the big man it's okay to sneak a grab
we disgrace the race of elbows
the room did not like our sound

cause that's the way that it hurt this time
did it hurt this time?
