This is a memorable hook, the "stars rise to..."
I listened to three hours of music yesterday, including a new Wild Sweet Orange album full of well produced hooky songs, but yours was the one I was humming hours later, even though I had to go back and figure out whose song it was.

A hit in waiting.

jwb, there's already a verse, chorus, and then a short bridge that leads into the piano solo. I tend not to like to have songs run 4+ minutes and this one clocked in at just under 4. Perhaps the bridge wasn't enough of a departure from the rest of the song for you.

The song is in 6/8 but the beat is a straight 3/4. I thought it gave it better pacing than a 6/8 beat. This beat tends to make it sound like its pushing or strolling along where a 6/8 cut beat would've given it a drag effect.

I would like to hear the drums simplified. Sounds like 6/8? I might prefer a slow 2/2. My 2cents...

This is very good. Great pacing. The vocal quality belies the message in the lyrics. I've learned something from this tune. Thanks a lot

Nice piece. It somewhat reminds me of Elton John. This should be featured.

excellent.....very moving
I'll gather the strength that is left in my name
Let the heavens command me to change
Somewhere a cold bed awaits

Old lanterns burn dim with decay in the air
with a stare that will leave your soul bare
Creation is still everywhere

Stars rise to find you tonight
days, they come and they're gone

Heavenly moon-thieves should fail not to come
to the graves of a thousand dead suns
and leave warnings there for everyone

I still hear your voice calling me from the end
of windblown streets desolate
on the eve of winter's ascent

Stars rise to find you tonight
days, they come and they're gone

And every day I'm wasting my time
losing my mind
but I trust everything will be all right
