ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

Great arrangement and mix of elements here. Personally, I think the vocals are great (of course, I don't know just how much tweaking you did, but I'm guessing the guy has some natural talent). Too bad the singer was so difficult to work with.

i'm assuming you're trying to upset me by giving me half a star. If you look at my submissions, i've given myself half a star. Dunno who you are, but if you have something to say, say it.

you know, in retrospect, the thing i regret the most about this song is not adding changes to the piano part...
Me pregunto si todavĂa tengo los archivos de proyecto.

Yeah I worked with two Polish guys that blasted Nightwish like 4 hours a day, every day for months. I never want to hear them or Rammenstein again.

Yeah?,I don't mind Nightwish...not in great doses but every now and then it's the right thing to listen to...this is much cooler tho :)

I freaking love this and am stoked to be able to download it,Yeah i still hear shades of Nightwish,Lacuna Coil et al in here, not in an exact way, just in the stlye of...would love to hear a bit more grit in the vocals, the 'soaring' vocals work but the quiet patches not so...
Damn cool.

Just got the vintage tube Marantz amp working again, hooked up to the PC and the JBLs. I had the volume up. My studio was rocking. yeah-feature.

wow, nice mix of elements. i love the breakdown section, very cool. i'd actually listen to the radio more often if i thought there might be interesting stuff like this on there. what's so wrong with the vocals? sounds pretty good to me. featured.

pretty damn good...I like it, although to me, the music would have suggested more aggressive, harder-edged vocals...But as is, it picks up towards the middle a lot...but like you, maybe it's the soaring quality of the vox that stick out as incongrous. (Too FM radio.) But very good...Liked the interesting little piano/xylophone touch, but not sure it really fits. I'll listen again. If it came on the radio, I'd not turn the station!

This is great, epic guitars...oh this is ALL epic...I love this style of metal/hard rock in the vein of Nightwish,Within Temptation et al...you don't SOUND like them, just the same style which is a great thing.

yeah- no issues here, interesting clean channel right. I have no issue with the vocals either. Seems move effervescent than some of your tunes, or less dense and angry. That's cool, maybe more experimental. Sweet ending and the piano thing.

i really don't like this kind of singing. people talk about the singer songwriter types as whiners, but this is is some serious whining.
ha, lol "the loser i don't talk to anymore."
but, yeah, great production and the breakdown is just awesome, but damn, that singing is killing me on the inside.
mixed feelings on this, i'll go second stage.

Cool intro, keys. Well produced, cool parts. It's got enough unique elements to make it tolerable. In a genre full of crap and rehashed crap, this stands out as something way better.

I think there's something strange about the vocals. I can't pick out what's off about it though. Try auto-tune? Don't hate me, I'm serious here. Maybe tweak the EQs.

Wow, cool breakdown. I wish I'd have listened to this sooner. Nice work.

Awesome neo-pop-metal! Please feature this song.
I don't work with this singer anymore. He's bad bad bad. And he kinda betrayed my brother, with whom he was best friends. I've heard people say, "why don't you like his vocals?" so I'll answer that here.

1) He can't really sing. It took more time autotuning him than recording him. All the while, he had the balls to say "i don't like that. it makes me sound autotuned!" To which I replied, "yeah I'll work on using clips from those 20 takes and make a montage that sounds good." While he had no problem with that, it wasn't good enough. I still had to autotune with such passion and skill that he couldn't tell it was autotuned. Next time learn to sing on key fucker.

2) I'm pretty sure I said this before, but my mom's dog has more balls as a singer than he does. My mom's dog was neutered when he was like 4 months old.

3) Not so much a vocal issue as a lyrical one. I know for a fact that this guy wrong songs around rhyming words. This song was a lucky strike in that the rhymes and the content meshed well (funny how rebellious and/or socially conscious lyrics seem to work out that way. I'm sure available word choices had no small part in Bob Dylan's success... I'll have to think on this.)

4) Even with the caveats of 1-3 above, I still had to wait MONTHS for him to finally have something worthy of his deeming fit to stand in front of a mic to sing. He would NEVER allow collaboration, so it was "i'm still working on it" while i was 2 songs down the pipe already.

So yeah. enjoy. I wrote everything else.

Not bitter in the least,
Keaves
