ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

Proteus - Based out of Austin, Texas. Our name Proteus is from Greek mythology, a seagod who can tell the future and can change shape at will. Our style is exactly that!! We don't conform to one genre, we like to do what we want because we all have similar but different influences.

balcerebon- There was a demo version our Drummer Nick posted on his Myspace site that he did on garageband. I don't think the other guys know who Sufjan Stevens is, but I hear the similarity. Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts.

didn't you guys do a different version of this? this is mellow, interesting choices for mixing a christmas/indie-folk song. the vocals don't really fit though, i would want to hear a female voice in this. the little interlude before the chorus was a good idea. you guys like Sufjan Stevens?

This song wouldn't be a fav of mine. But I am intrigued about your sound. I'd be interested to hear a whole album.

Its an anti christmas song. We hope to make a video for this song, in the vein of "grandma got ran over by a reindeer"

there seems to be something incongruous about the pairing of the carol-ish proggy music and the delivery of the darkish deeply personal lyrics that comes dangeously close to triggering the cringe response.
so what happened? the snow plow come along and save the day?
