hahaha those two guys are hillarious... I don't see the merit in a review that is just a description of the physical pain a song brought you if only becuase it doesn't give the artist any insight on how to improve.

as far as this:
ps: meatmachine you're kinda mean.. sometimes you have to listen to the song a few times to get it's musical message

eat my #@&%!. when i read your review i had to boil a pinecone and drink the boiling water while shoving the pine cone up my ass in front of my grandparents to get the feeling of the lameness of your comment out of my mind.

just kidding....buuuuuut, I dunno dude, I don't feel that mean. I just noted that the drums were distant and that the song didn't do much for me.

I figured that the drums were intentionally distant, i don't think its bad or that the drums would've been better closer. I think maybe just 'stronger' in the distance (whatever that means).

I like this song in a wishy washy way. I don't feel as strongly as everyone else about how much I like it but I do like it.

ah, day two. thanks ruud, yeah i hear Nathan in his songs even when i'm playing them too. thanks caleb, hectismo and nakedb. maybe sput, but if that is the case, if "these critics" really are just acting defensively here, then it makes me wonder how i pissed off three people enough to simultaneously join the site and tell me i suck? ah well, anyone that uses "bob dylan" as insult isn't coming from where i'm coming from anyway.

This is a very nice cooperation. I love the atmosphere and the way you treated this song, with that far away drum sound and the very cool nostalgic harmony vocals. A great job. And I can't help hearing Nathan singing it too. It has that typical Nathan Wayne vibe.

hmmm... why the smackdown theater? the only time somebody does that is when they've at some time submitted a song that they thought would turn water into wine and it didn't end up on the feature page. dudes! it happens! move on! i'm sure you're huge in toronto. be happy with that.

This tune really isn't "feature material" in my opinion. Although it might have poignant lyrics, it lacks in every other department. You need to work hard to improve your vocal performance

This is not really my taste personally, its almost like a bad Bob Dylan meets a retarded Tom Petty and has a down syndromed song baby. This is ridiculous. It's like the most "gifted" of songs get featured on here. I think that this guy should record himself singing the song on put on youtube and dress as Leonardo DiCaprio from "What's Eating Gilbert G#@&%!" Then he should let the song burn in the house and be laid to rest. Then I would like to go to sleep and think that this all never happened, for I fear because I have listened to this song that I might write a really bad song today. I am also going to go and by a deuche and clean the feces out of my ear and my life is now has 3 minutes of more wasted time for having heard it.

I ate a porcupine to get my mind off these awful lyrics... i would rather eat diarrhea #@&%! that out and eat that over a dead cat carcass than listen to this song again. worst song ever.. my penis shriveled into my scrotum after listening.. keep up the good work

thanks everyone. these are great lyrics. i think the "new dance partner" line speaks the truth. "next world war" is powerful imagery. interesting source, Nathan. it does feel like these songs just appear and that the art is in recognizing them. the keyboard horns were the best i could do. the distant sounding drum was very much intentional.

yes many should be able to relate. thanks for the praise in the liner notes.
you've done a wonderful job of seeing this one, as always. As for where my original thought came from, to quote Empire Records, "who knows where thoughts come from, Joe... they just appear."

It's the collabs and in-house covers I love most about fizz, You & Nathan are two of my fave songwriters on here and the amalgamation of the two of yaz works a treat, this is loose like a comfy pair of trousers, the horn line is cool and the pedantic slight;y behind teh beat snare keeps it almost surreal....and you know what? You could replace the horns with bagpipes or, better still, Uilleann pipes and it'd swing Celtic.
Damn cool, more please :)

Ha I love finishing songs. I always wanted to make a song about it but you beat me to it. Great stuff. the tamborine is perfect as a snare. how many monikers do you use? haha jk

ps: meatmachine you're kinda mean.. sometimes you have to listen to the song a few times to get it's musical message
Nathan Wayne, that guy from elo, song. Once you give his work an honest listen you're hooked. He sent me a message a while back saying that he imagined my voice on this song so I happily gave it a go. I'm guesing many at red fizz can relate with this one. Thanks Nathan.
