ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

a Jigsaw - a Jigsaw are a band from Coimbra. João Rui, Susana Ribeiro, Jorri and Marco Silva are the Four elements of this band that surrendered to the sound of folk, country and blues. Over the time they came to assume themselves as a multi-instrumentalist trio, surprising the audience with songs played with a varied range of instruments. Of its box of surprises you can get a guitar and a harmonica, a banjo and an upright bass, the most varied percussions (from the castanets to the traditional bombo 9), keyboards, violin, Glockenspiel, harmonium, melodica , autoharp and ukulele.

I'm trying to get something out of the lyrics, other than kind of Americana stock images. Red Pony, Steinbeck, had to do with growing up learning tough things about life, if I recall correctly. Is there something of that infused in here, or is it just the title?

The only negative thing I hear is the vocal is not right for this song...too vampy or something. A female singer could make this sing.
But, wow, well done music, very well done. Good enough for a feature.

very nicely done. some of the lines in conjunction with the image i have of the singer make me LOLOLOLOL.

tight, very easy listen. have to agree on vocals though, something wrong in the intonation. still an F for me

I like. Highly engaging and doesn't take itself too seriously. Love the line about the moon being "mine to steal." Not sure about the Red Pony, but am wondering if it needs a tracheotomy...Trippicanica zydeco.

from the first banjo note i was pretty sure i'd like this, and then it lead into harmonica, and then it led into your pretty cool voice, and then it was a good song. Verses are definitely stronger than the chorus in my opinion, i only notice the intonation thing on a few words (a couple of the "steal"s). Feature definitely. its all mixed really well too
Red Pony
( From the Conceptual album "Like The Wolf " inspired in Steinbeck's Novel)
www.myspace.com/ajigsaw

There are men, begging to be free
Stranded there, against the door
If all of this is real, then the dream is over,
And I, oh my, I am a stranger to you

So what about the moon, it's mine to steal
So what about the moon, it's mine to steal
Red, Red Pony, stand out by my door
Red, Red Pony, stand outside my door, alright

Oh Let's just sing of the good old days
Let's just bring them back and hear them on hi-fi stereos

So what about the moon, it's mine to steal
So what about the moon, it's mine to steal
Alright Boys!

Red, Red Pony, stand out by my door
Red, Red Pony, stand outside my door, alright

Produced and recorded by Miro Vaz
