i created a little movie that more-or-less followed along the lines of a computer geek going about his business, but then something happens and he is then lost amongst a sea of cubicles, until he reaches his arch foe, and then something confusing happens, but I don't really know the W's of the whole thing. . .

for instance... the music starts. the protagonist is lying in bed, half asleep half awake, half dreaming but time is running out. then, he is awakened by the alarm clock and begins his day. coffee, jazz, and he's out the door, heading across town somewhere, to work maybe. morning commute, hectic, bumper to bumper but still he returns to the dream he was having just before the alarm went off. at 2:22 something happens. maybe he gets off the freeway to take a shortcut but ends up in a part of the city he's not familiar with, like the ghetto. by 3:20 he's lost, feeling anxious, can't get back to the freeway. then something really bad happens. maybe he gets caught in a gang war crossfire. he gets hit by a stray bullet. he's dying. it doesn't make any sense. he was just going to work. he dies. the end.

i think that all instrumental/soundscape type of music invokes imagery. it takes the listener somewhere in their mind and without the benefit of a lyrical narrative it can still tell a story complete with scenery, characters and a plot. to me, this tune has at least 3 separate scene events. each event could be developed a little more and transitioned between much like a screenplay for the little theatre production that goes on in one's mind when listening.

that's a good point Bratty, this wasn't one that invoked any particular scenes weaving together, just an idiosyncratically formulaic automotonic mixing of sounds. i didn't really put much imagination into my latest mixes. . . i need to spend more time with them. . .

seems like it needs a little more plot development to link the different scenes together and to bring more definition to them.

I really liked that first theme after the intro, I just wished the track evolved more around that mellow swing, somehow it falls apart now for me. But as always there are some good ideas and sounds
