ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

Yes, this may be killing me softly part 2, But how many songs was Run Around Sue? Crocodile Rock? Dyer Maker? I can live with the vocal mix. Good song.

I'm glad some people enjoyed this. I put this all together one afternoon a few years ago. I believe there was a muscle relaxer and an omni chord involved. This isn't a serious project for me. Wombat is a joke name, and the tape picture is rad, no matter what anyone says. I like this song, but unfortunately can no longer access the file, so no revisions shall be made!

I agree that the vocals could be mixed a little better, but this is very nicely done. Very accessable, with a good groove, and interesting twists--an enjoyable journey.

Still liking this... now I'm thinking cut the intro in half, needs a little more tension in the road stretching out section. The cassette might be cool if it had the band name instead of looking like it came from a value pack. Looking forward to more. Love the sound of the intro. I think the more compact you can get this piece the better.

is it just me or do some pics strike you wrong ? crappy cassettes bring back bad memories

wombat is a cool name, needs an acrylic art work to show off the band- or my idea

kinda the killers, indie pop, etc

I take back everything I said about this not being my bag. I just don't tend to like palm muted power chords. I don't know why. Regardless, this song is neato, great melody.

Killing Me Softly is the intro/melody I start off hearing...
and then sounds a little '80s Kinks.
Kind of constricted - never really peaks.

right off the bat, this has the kinda 60s atmosphere that grabs my attention. I love this. want to make it perfect? place the vocal more up the center instead of the radical stereo pan. why hide the great singing? great song.

This really, really isn't my bag, at all, but it's a well written song, and well produced. And you sing well. Definitely should be featured. It's actually growing more and more on me as I type this.

60s? I hear 80s...

I think 30 seconds is way too long for an intro. I agree about the vocal sounding odd with the hard panning and generally the vocal sounds kind of dead with the exception of a few spots where it's too alive. The chorus is awesome. I wish this were a bit more produced because there's a good song in here somewhere.

Intro grabbed me right off. Normally I'd say it was too long but in this case perhaps not. The verses seem a bit inconsistent. Agreeing with the comments on the vocal mix and delivery although I like the parts that are "too alive".
