Ehhh, bob dylan already wrote that song brudda. You can critique the song as much as you like but something about your critique makes me think you are assuming too much. This is a pick up and play song which is why its short and repetative. Check your cards

the only thing that is clever is getting all the lyrics in unison in one take, without editing. otherwise, it sounds like it is trying way too hard to be a quirky and hip little ditty. it began with promise, but it dwindled very quickly to forgettable nonsense, with an arrogant humility (if that makes sense). if the lyrics weren't repeated, then it might not have this effect. forget any sort of conventional arrangement, forget choruses, forget verse, just play and sing. that would be more impressive. then you'd be a little closer to subterranean homesick blues. the stream of consciousness is too contrived here.

I'm redoing it. Less chorus, +1 guitar solo and maybe a trombone

This song is kinda cool, but has a TV commercial feel to it and seems like it shouldn't be longer than 30 seconds. It gets repetitive to the point of being annoying by the time it's over.

Nicely done.
Like NYC, it's a nice visit, but, for me, a little frenetic for repeated visits.
Might need a guitar break in there instead of another repeat of the chorus.

Great live song to make the audience sing along. i enjoyed myself with it, don't think it's too long.

Agree with that it has a tv advert vibe, Probably shouldn't be longer than a minute or so. Nicely done though, great hook.

Count how many times you hear NYC good life again then divide by 2. Two minute song max.
