I could tell in the first 30 seconds. Nice voice, nice production. I wouldn't listen to it, but #@&%! what I think. The strings are deadly. I wouldn't worry about that hiss. The rest of the production is so perfect, it sounds intentional. I thought it was snare brushes, or a synth.
feature. Good job.

and people, good job to you too, this is a feature.

Thanks for all the new comments. Ministerofeny, you post the Army Defense recordings on Redfizz, don't you? We first heard Army Defense on Redfizz, and we have become fans. You guys are amazing songwriters and performers. We are especially pleased that you like our recording. Listening to your stuff right now...

I have tinnitus so don't hear the hiss, that frequency is long gone...what I CAN hear is simple, yet wonderful.
Bloody nice :o)

This is both a very cool song and a wonderful arrangement! Nice chord changes, nice vocal work, and cello is ALWAYS nice. I want one! The instrumentation and performance are both great!

sounds darn good to me, that hiss is pretty minimal - I love the effect of the doubled guitars.. that is pretty sweetly recorded and well done

I need to download about a billion songs here but this would be on the list for sure

Love the cello and just right percussion. Lyrical and sweeping with an unforgettable melody. Can't get it out of my head- not that I want to.

Thanks for the wonderful feedback everyone! Groon, this was a home production, recorded in my bedroom. Sleepy, I agree, the hiss is a bit much in the verses I was using the tube preamps in an akai 1710 reel-to-reel on the pizzicato cello bassline, which gave it a really nice character, but unfortunately being an old unserviced machine it added a ton of hiss that I couldn't seem to eq all the way out without killing the cello. I like to pretend the hiss was intentionally left in "for effect" though. I'll see what I can do about those vocals getting covered up

This sounds like an upbeat Kunek song. Also reminds of The Format, if they were about to go to bed. Good song, just have to be in a mellower mood to stick with it. Y'all obviously aren't amateur hour.

Production comments:
-The verses have a lot of hiss; it's subjective whether this is good or bad. I like to hear it, but in this song it's distracting (for me).
-Vocals get drowned out by the cello. Bit of a strain to make them out during the transitions.

Professional production values that express like a flower opening revealing increasing interesting detail. The song breathes organically. Bravo and welcome to my Feature
vote. This is just well crafted song writing. Was this home production?
