ghengus23: great down dirty country rock feelin' from the start. Reminds me of social distortion. Not sure if...

and as far as the drums go, i'm using Glynn Johns micing technique on them, and they are my bane. I thinkt he main problem is that people are too used to the sound of heavily compressed drums they hear on the radio, people have forgotten what an accoustic kit sounds like.

All of the songs I've been posting are from the RPM 2012 album I did called Uniform. 10 songs using the same 10 lines of poetry. I was trying to make as varied of styles between the different songs as possible. Sorry I like to mix the vocals low in the mix, it's one of the faults of a not very confident singers. someday I'll take all my songs and get a real singer to sing all of them.

I think I like the loose timing feel of this anchored on a solid bass part. Ooo, combo
organ peeks out. Energy building. Good song here-let's Feature.

Great drums! I'm not crazy about the melody or the vocal though. The song itself is kind of just there and it's mixed such that I can't really understand the lyrics.

There are some VERY cool changes on the chorus. The vocals do get a bit buried. Drums are very interesting. In some ways this reminds me of a "darker" U2--especially the beginning. The contrast between the first and second verse arrangements is quite effective. If you brought the guitars down JUST a bit, I think this would be nicely balanced. Still, I say, "Feature it!"

To be honest, I was bored at the start. But I held on and eventually it sucked me in and I started to enjoy it. Nice work.

Soft, smooth, deep. Great performance and well written material.

But the mix needs a polish, something cheap sounding about the drums. Too much reverb? Maybe try distortion or double delay or super compression on the snare? Or all three? Play around. The mix gives it a battle-of-the-bands feel, that's the only reason this shouldn't be featured.

i think you might be trying to sound like Death Cab, or any number of the alt rock bands that blossomed in the earlier 2000's. with a few changes, and a different tone (and track title) this could be excellent. from wha i gathred from what i could hear fo the lyrics cleary, sounded well=written.
