Little bit of backstory, I guess for the sake of explanation. I'd never really messed with the idea of writing anything political before. When I wrote this song, I kind of set out to do something different and actually try to handle that subject. It was a bit of a challenge because I don't really know enough about everything that goes on politically to sit there and pretend like I had some of an answer, or to write some kind of song about "my solution." So I wrote about something that I could actually write passionately about, and something I thought was valid. So instead of the cookie cutter "Oppression, bla bla Government, politics, corruption, bla bla" I went from a standpoint of my frustration over the state of mind that seems to be had by most of those in office. Stuff like, the fact that Stem Cell research has been proven as something that can really help in scientific medical advances, but couldn't be looked further into because God thinks it's bad. The fact that as a nation we're in an economic tailspin, but people in government thinks it's pertinent to fight about who can get married to who. With all of that said, at the same time i'm really happy to live in the country i do, I enjoy that fact that i can get high and play xbox all day if i want, and that's a choice granted to me by my freedom, it's just there are some things going on that are a little dodgy. So this was written form a perspective of "I do like this pace, i enjoy what I have, but at the same time i'm also very eager to get more of todays intelligence into the positions to make decisions." An eagerness to have the old school protocol taken over by those who put logic first, and pay no attention to business as usual for the sake of comfort in repetition.

Love the song, not a fan of the snare sound. It sounds more like a pop than a crack. It does sounds a bit generic, maybe a more defined riff would help give it more identity. Over-all it's well done and has some balls to it.

the words are awful, the song generic, i suppose you think hippy music all sounds the same too. the funny thing is for all the fallout boy rip offs out there right now, there were a billion more dead cover bands. oh well, i must be getting old.

In the beginning lyrics it sounds like I say "We spent out Lunches: Warning signs"

I understand where the fob comparisons are coming from. But I like this better. This is my favorite sing vocal right here. He really lets it rip. I like that the kick drum is restrained more than often is in others of this style, avoiding the gatling gun style, though it still sounds like the most important drum in the kit. The guitars sound great.

I think it's a great example of the lighter side of metal, those fast passages are pretty damned cool. I think the snare sound suits it perfectly, reminds me of The Reverend's snare, couldn't imagine Bat Country without it (I don't yaz sound like 'em, just a similar snare sound is all)
Too light for my tastes but know my guitar students LOVE this kinda stuff, I give it an F for them.
