First the down side: The production is too tinny. It's kinda painful. The Good: The groove is great. The playing rocks! Calls to mind the first Yellowjackets albumn--and that's a big plus from me! Very cool music. I just wish the recording quality were a bit better.

Damn...another killer lead player. I only hate those types due to envy. I thought I heard a touch or two of van halen along with the grooviness. My only qualm is the fade-out.

The rips are luscious. And, for as tinny as this is, the bass actually has a nice tone.

Well, I blame the tinniness on two things. One is I do not have my monitors hooked up so I mixed the headphones. But a good part of it is the mp3. I lost a good deal of the bass in the process. The wav file sound much better, but yes the high end is a too much. I will fix that when I master it.

As to the 70s groove, that was deliberate. Hence the title:

Prince's (his purple shortness) Godfather (of Soul James Brown) Went Down to Ohio (where he met Bootsy Collins). My tribute to funk.
