The technical term is non-displaced radial head fracture. It really ain't that bad, no cast or nothing. But its got me away from work for a month and a half. Unplanned vacation. And technically, I had already fallen off the board when my arm broke.

I figured you would think so. I believe it has all of the kinds of effect laden tones that dutiful Prog Rockers need. I am sure you will have lots of fun and find tons of inspiration from it. I'm still sitting here anxiously waiting on the SG. I can play guitar even though I am out of work with a broke arm (no drums though). It's being shipped from a seller in Canada. I had lost a few auctions. This one did not have a very good picture so I am on pins and needles to see how it is. BUt probably because of that is why I got a great deal. $385. The specials have been running around 450 and go for over 700 new. My mandolin is taking a spot on the wall, so I will just find another place for that to make room. I may have to start thinning the herd. Anyone in the market for a 79 Goldtop Gibson Les Paul Deluxe?

IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT
[7/23/2010 7:35:31 PM EST]
You may never use your amp again. YOu'll now just have so many tone options. Sweet. Myself, I am waiting on a Gibson SG special (faded brown) I won in an Ebay auction. I have wanted one forever. Ah, boys and their toys lust.
Babar Klunj
[7/23/2010 4:42:00 PM EST]
On the recommendation of my pal Sputnikov I just received a new toy that I got off ebay. A Johnson J-Station is now a part of Small Potatoes studio here in Kastle Klunj.
http://www.johnson-amp.com/jstation.htm
As with most acquisitions in my modest setup a studio rearrangement will be taking place in the morning in order for the new toy to become better acquainted with the older more established toys.

You know Richie. I think it's awesome. If you've got the drive, do it!!!! There's a group of 5 of us from Jr. and Sr. High school that all had the same teacher. It was cultural, social and eye opening. Frankly I think I learned more from the guitar teacher than I ever did from anyone at that age. A real mentor. If we got to the level: he'd let us play in his cover band. It was kind of like a graduation. Yeah! You can be a buddha of music. Great!

I am gonna just say how a song makes me feel or if I like it or not instead as everyone else is dong a great job at the pulling to bits and offering production opinions, I will give advice when I see it needed but as to the songwriting and production tips...nah, that's a personal thing and every body is always right :o)
unklespaz
[4/25/2010 9:27:05 AM EST]
Richie: That's awesome. I disagree though. You are good at stripping a song to the core and letting us know what you think. I think it's very insightful. I guess I think of you and I especially as admirers than critics, but I also find helpful suggestions in what you write. I don't blame you for giving up on the critic bit but I hope you keep writing occasionally. Cool though. Something that has such emotional raw spontaneous power like music is hard to evaluate though. I'd describe a lot of the critiques as "emotional raw spontaneous power" as well. Music should be fun, it should be entertaining, and it should be visceral or passionate at best. I also find it healing and cathartic. That said, I am sure you have a lot to offer the young ones.
Richie Isaacs
[4/24/2010 10:50:46 PM EST]
No, an awesome week away mentoring youngsters on how to rock-out on stage, speaking for my self (sniping free guaranteed) I found music isn't something to pick to bits but to just enjoy, those kids had so much fun just playing that I think I re-learned what music is about for me...I'll leave the whole production thing and change this and that thing to those more qualified to do so, my heart belongs to playing and listening and that's more than enough :o)

well they call the Rode mics the Neumann Killers but, after owning a couple I don't believe the hype. I've found equip to be much like guitars, meaning that there are one or several for everybody, but it doesn't necessarily mean that one's better than another for a certain individual.

Two feet of snow here at Klunj Kastle at 8:35 AM and still coming down. The Queen and I are well stocked with all the essentials. Good time to work on music.

Today I had the pleasure of sampling some Sam Adams Utopia beer. WOW!! Extremely limited production...27% alcohol...$130 a bottle. Seriously tasty stuff. More like a fine cognac or brandy than a beer. Not something to suck down on a hot summer day. Fortunately I have a friend who owns a beer and wine distributorship. She got it as a gift from the Boston Brewing Company and kindly shared some of it with some of the backstage folks at the Opera House.

The Kriticks around here need a swift boot in the ass. I have half a mind to give sing a call and turn him loose on your mealy pansy asses. Somebody has to do it. Instead of praising those things that show creativity and uniqueness, they (kriticks) all praise those things they imagine would be considered good by others. Get some character. And taste.

The Bubinga Brothers was a varying group of people who met at Klunj Kastle back in the late 80's to make music. Generally improvised with a wide range of musical skills involved. If you didn't have an instrument, one was found for you or you might get tasked to do some vocals. Good times.

Sesame Street was definitely imported over here, that's was/is a bankable commodity around the globe... altho they cut the Spanish segments out after a few years as altho tis a beautiful language it's just not spoken here....I grew up with it, ladybugs picnic

Dear Spaz....I'll see Monkey about uploading the pointless aimless bluesy noodling, will be funny to see it critiqued cos altho *I* listen to critiques and use them in my songs(my skills have improved from what I've been told, my last song was my coolest IMO, not putting it on here tho as part of it belongs to someone else so can't have it for free download) Monkey doesn't give a rats tushie about critiques and posts to just post.(As do a few others on here methinks, which is cool, post to share, not to be evaluated) if it turns up, it turns up.
Sorry, Mr Disney (:

Oh yeah, Back In Black was the first one I heard and picked riff off of (for a reggae fan that was pretty significant) and found the earlier Bon stuff afterwards, in my brother in laws vinyl collection...that dude still has the most diverse, and open mind, of any audiophile I've ever seen.

Well my very 1st record was "for those about to rock" at the time it was on heavy rotation, age 9 or whatever - I started with all those classics.... the video broadcast of the tour from Flick of the switch made me determined to play guitar actually. I was so impressed with the 1 handed playing and that cool solo he did :_) I was actually in shock with Bon's singing style after buying the early stuff on a whim, but I'm with you: after the age of 21 or whatever, I don't like much new stuff outside of back in black

I only like the Bon Scott era, not too keen on being screamed at all the time ya see.
Love At First Feel was the replaced track...I won't track it down as I don't listen to them much anymore but in it's day it, and most of the Bon era acca dacca, was damn good noisy fun.

years ago a buddy of mine had some #@&%! steal a parking spot that he was waiting for at a small shopping mall. The other guy was a total dick and threatened my buddy with violence. When my buddy got back to his house he was obviously upset so I drove him back to the mall in my car where we proceeded to let the air out all of Mr. #@&%!'s tires. Said #@&%! was from out of the area (by about 30 miles) and happened to have 3 other #@&%!s with him. Sometimes there are ways to just make the world OK again.

That's funny, I've got the Aussie release on LP (same thing - song not on the US version). Which song is missing on the Aussie version? Dang I've got that, the High voltage, the TNT album, and something else.. and the Brian Johnson and Bon Scott works before ACDC....I'm kinda over em but sure liked them back in the day. I had the Soul Stipper 7' and a few other assorted singles.
They always did really well with the imagery. Cool stuff

I don't know about Obscure. It's been a lot of years since Dirty deeds came out though (76 ?) ....that's a while. ACDC fans all know it because they still do it live. Then again, there are so many people that don't really know rock all that well period. GO figure.

We're basically Americanised now, it's 90% of our television programming, the youth pick up something and run with it (we even say Santa now instead of the centuries old Father Christmas... neither appeal to me, I don't want a coca cola icon sliding his fat arse down MY chimney!) the Internet has almost made it a done deal, mind you, the lower class/below the poverty line youth here have their own language which doesn't export well...'cept I'm still trying to figgur out how our brother Nitwit got a hold of 'chur'
