happy 12 birthday
unklespaz [5/28/2018 1:47:35 PM EST]
Me too, especially since this kind of music is all I listen to. I believe they were ahead of their time, or overrun by tolls like me.... too bad.

I miss this place. I still have a bunch of songs from some of the regulars here, shuffling around on my phone. It always brings a grin as I'm driving around

IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [8/1/2017 8:08:07 PM EST]
Hey sing, site still functions for listening. I come here and listen occasionally, I miss even your pop metal mess. I need a kick in the ass to get recording again. I mostly just like playing and singing. Doing that a lot. If the creative urge resurrects, there is no outlet.
singmetofire [3/11/2017 1:30:34 AM EST]
I thought for sure this would be gone by now. Miss you guys.

Duces!
bensellars12 [2/7/2014 3:24:35 AM EST]
I agree, for everyone uploading a track to the site it is our duty to post a few reviews. A virtuous circle. Review five tracks, get five reviews in return. Review ten tracks, receive ten reviews. Then good bands hang around because they are getting the reviews they came for. New bands come, get reviews, tell their friends and fans. Before long the site is thriving again. The bands are getting valuable feedback and we're all getting to hear new music.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [2/2/2014 3:34:30 PM EST]
I have been working backstage more than usual the last month. I swear, the quality of the content is as high as it has ever been. Maybe even higher than when the site was jammed with critics and bands. Seems like there is enough material to move more of the stuff through the feature page (hint - admins?). Unfortunately, contributors (as always) out number the critics. If you post tracks here, please give back a little and comment on other peoples material. This site has always had more potential than actual results. We need a bum rush on the place. Redfizz flash mobs. Get to work on that, people.

I can relate to your bit about Macs.. I own a windoze, and I now believe all these companies blow and suck

I don't believe in company loyalty.. really, if you consider how many of these units they sell, how could they be loyal to everyone? It's like having customer support for every oreo that nabisco sells. Still, Steve Jobs did tell users to go #@&%! themselves often, and I admire that.

Holy crap! Fizz is real close to going 10,000 songs deep.
muckus [6/12/2013 7:16:38 PM EST]
2nd posting liner notes in advance. Buy my book.

Many bits of this make me happy. I love the organ. I was up on the farm recently, but was too lazy to take a walk at sunrise and slept in. This is a description of the thoughts in my head and events that occurred after I did get up. And the horses wonder who you are. And it may be a skunk, but probably a black and white cat skulking way in the back pasture. And the bird dogs are barking in the kennels. Somebody didn't tell me about socks on hardwood floor stairs. I bounced down a small flight. Hurt all over. But laying in the room, a breeze was flowing through the windows of the big farmhouse 2nd story bedroom and I just seemed to sink into the mattress,...
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [6/12/2013 6:58:24 PM EST]
What do you think? I have asked the admins to fix my song, An Early Morning Walk About the Farm, because it won't play. Yet still, it won't play. Since Apple crapped on my webpage, fizz is my only canvas. There weren't a ton of people who liked it before. But, I am going to resubmit it so I have online access to the tune. It is one of my favorites because it feels like a true recreated representation of my feelings and sensorial observances of a particular moment in time. Thank you for your patience.

It's because I'm old. Been recording for 30 years. Plus I live in a really boring place, so I've had plenty of time.

Anyway, I just finished watching "The Master". What the #@&%!?
unklespaz [3/7/2013 12:41:11 AM EST]
hey, I went to your website, and I don't doubt that you are ready to make a manifesto. How is it even possible that you have made that many albums? That is the definition of prolific right there. You bang em out, and they are enjoyable little tunes too.
stedman [3/6/2013 7:45:39 PM EST]
Well, in that case, I better just post my all-caps manifesto and turn this mutha out. Like my close personal friend George Clinton would do.
unklespaz [3/6/2013 10:21:15 AM EST]
Yeah, I'm not saying I'm not grateful. Matter of fact, the guys approve photos and chime in, or probably listen. I have noticed that Qualcomm is a big coolfog fan. Maybe if he posted more, we'd get our admins back. Still, us volunteers seem to keep the place a little lively anyway.
Babar Klunj [3/6/2013 9:56:40 AM EST]
they still pay the bills,,,of which we are grateful for...but yeah they pretty much have left the place on autopilot.
unklespaz [3/6/2013 12:14:19 AM EST]
NO! Matter of fact, the admins effectively bailed about a year ago? Maybe longer.. they left he inmates like us chained to our cells, but we've gradually picked the locks and are wandering about. Normally I'd provide a link showing that the creators, owners or admins truly abandoned the site, but I don't feel like it. I must say there's ample evidence if you do some forum searches.

I just finished an 18 song, 41min CD. The music has been remastered from what I have posted here, so it is a more balanced listen. I think I only know a few people who could tolerate an entire listen. The thing really makes me happy. If my happiness is vindicated in others liking it then that is the bonus. I plan to keep searching. Babar, I'll get you a hard copy in the mail. I am going to see Will and Amy tomorrow so I will take them a copy. I am what I am. I do what I do. I can't be other. If somebody can suggest a free site to post the entire album for free download I would do that since the iCloud murdered my own website.
Babar Klunj [12/14/2012 8:06:42 PM EST]
I have been fortunate in that many paths have presented themselves. I try to wander down each one.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/14/2012 7:57:40 PM EST]
I speak from my point of view. I hope everyone gets to take their own path. Next fizzfest is on me. Wonder how long I will keep saying that. I really hope to make it happen early this year.
Babar Klunj [12/14/2012 6:33:18 PM EST]
I would love to be in a band again, but time, other creative interests and the fact that I don't compose or play music that many of the locals here are in to has made it difficult to put a band together. But I am very happy that I get to do what I want musically on my terms at home, plus I have been very fortunate to be able to collaborate on music with a number of fine folks right here on Redfizz. Oh...and the Fizzfests....what can I say....way too much fun.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/14/2012 6:01:46 PM EST]
Sure it does. Look, I had fun. But it was always on someone else's terms. Only the really talented or lucky make music on their own terms. I got tired of being poor. I got a real job and then could afford to pursue my passions as I saw fit. Am I happier? Totally. For the most part, if music is commercially viable it has little to offer me. It seems that anything that could potentially be interesting is in-accessable to the masses. I'd rather be deaf than only be able to listen to the pap that is popular.
DaveOD [12/12/2012 12:18:19 AM EST]
I don't blame you a bit IE, but being able to pay the rent making music doesn't suck.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/11/2012 9:28:44 PM EST]
Yeah, you know I love pop music. Everything from Connie Francis to Les Paul and Mary Ford kicked my ass. But me, personally, I don't give a #@&%! for the easily confused.
DaveOD [12/11/2012 4:49:40 PM EST]
I always use a click for the initial scratch tracks, but once I have the bass & drums locked, I shut it off and retake everything. Varying tempos is fine from an artistic stand point, but if you want to keep the girlies on the dance floor, you have to be a time Nazi. IE hit the nail on the head. Confuse'em and you lose'em.
Babar Klunj [12/11/2012 3:42:13 PM EST]
Dynamics are when 3 Swedish swimsuit models fight over the suntan lotion.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/10/2012 10:49:57 PM EST]
When I consider dynamics, I am thinking of variations in sound level. Classical writers would routinely notate tempo considerations. I guess tempo can be can considered an element of dynamics. I am all for it. I think most pop music goes out of its way to avoid confusing people, and thus we have static tempo. I like it because it makes editing easier. But then, I am posting and applauding other music that often plays little respect to time signature. I guess I like the extremes.
Mr. Bratty [12/10/2012 8:36:10 PM EST]
I betcha jonathanwoodvincent doesn't use one.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/10/2012 2:31:35 PM EST]
And some people wonder why they have difficulty following click tracks. It's not their fault. It's because programmers of such things are not musicians themselves. Apparently, I rant.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/10/2012 2:28:27 PM EST]
I mean, think about it. Bass notes go on the downbeat. If you do reggae, where the snare goes on the one, then click tracks are for you. Play a waltz on the piano. The left hand plays the downbeat.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [12/10/2012 1:47:32 PM EST]
Metronome and prefab click-tracks suck. I always have to build my own, because they are always back-ards. I have a waltz backstage. You try playing to TICK, boop, boop. It is almost impossible to feel. I sequenced my own and correctly made it go BOOP, tick, tick. Say and repeat both of them out loud and you will see what I mean. The problem is really exaggerated in 3/4 time. I swear, humans are six times dumber than they imagine themselves to be. Don't get me started.
unklespaz [12/10/2012 9:13:50 AM EST]

The song I recorded for my dad is being featured on his birthday. How cool is that? I felt kinda underwhelmed by the finished product. Truth be told, I ain't fit to swim in Roy Acuff's spit. But, I really gave my best effort. I can't sing, I'm desperately trying to cop legitimate bluegrass riffage, but I know no matter what I do, it's just going to sound like me. We be taking dad out on the day after. This is cool because I can send him the link on his Bday and tell him the hard copy is coming the next night. Please wish him a happy Bday and if you comment, don't hurt me too bad.

there is a correct grammatical way to denote sarcasm, it's an exclamation point between parentheses. And I'll cop to being a snooty person from the NYC metropolitan area, we have this idea that people from anywhere else, especially the midwest are fairly backwards and simple. If you're of italian ancestry, that multipies itself maybe twofold. This is tempered by the fact that our accent can sound pretty ridiculous--When I lived in Los Angeles I had trouble ordering coffee. They would look at me like I had two heads when I asked for "a large cawfee"

Los Lonely Boys rule

Richie. Come to America and you can be a Native American. All you need is to clam on great-great-grandparent.

Also, you have to understand that in American English, "Mexican" doesn not mean you are from Mexico, it means you are Hisplanic and are standing in most of the body of the country. However, if you are in Florida, you are then considered Cuban. If you are in New York or New England, you become Puerto Rican.

But if you come here, you would be something else anyone. You would say you are from New Zealand and some American will correct you "You mean you are from Australia."

Welcome to America! Papers, please....
Richie Isaacs [4/27/2011 6:51:24 AM EST]

Fizzfest 5 was a blast. It featured the first fizz disc golf challenge at the lovely Cedar Rock Park. Will and Amy where awesome and gracious hosts. It was good to see Scott. I met the Sticky Wicket guys and made some new friends. The Jam was awesome with people handing instruments over and everybody playing a little bit of everything. I drank some of Will's home brews and enjoyed a couple of Peacemaker sixes that I brought with me. We hit the J&R outlet and loaded up on fine cigars. I must have smoked ten of them. I would like to send out a special shout to Terry who brought the killer chili that was the hit of the evening. The crab salad was kicking too. Really good fun with good people.

This is probably going to be the least fizziest fizzfest ever. Neither Scott or Will have been on fizz recently, so the word hasn't gone out to other fizzfest alumni. Scott got the ball rolling by suggesting next weekend about a month ago. I suggested the week after that because I have to work this upcoming. Scott replied that it had to be this weekend so I took vacation days. Will volunteered to host at his place. I haven't talked to Scott, but I have seen on facebook that they have had a death in the family, so now I suspect they won't make the trip. Will has invited a lot of cool people from his Sticky Wicket circle so there is going to be jamming into the night, but I doubt any of those guys are fizzers. Maybe we should drop the fizzfest label and change the name to Jam at WillB's. Anyway, The next one will be my turn to host. When that day arrives, I will put the word out on fizz. Moschetti came to that last one I hosted. Blasto has shown up at Scott's events. If starting a fund to get Don over here from the crazy coast would make it possible for him to be here, I would do it and donate myself. I'm sure others would too. Maybe you could get someone to mind the coffee shop and make it out here with you and yours. You would sure be welcome. I imagine Will might post some of our crazy squawking after this weekend. Look for the obviously contrived bands to show up. I'm taking my SG and am going to drink beer.

LiTTLE TiMMY [1/19/2011 9:53:58 PM EST]
I hate that liner notes are not available backstage. So here's the scoop on the 1st tune now posted backstage.

Song #1 of 6, written and recorded in a seven day span sometime in August of 2003. At the time I was working in the Sterile Filling Facility, (SFF). We (me and co-workers) were thinking of other acronyms that would work, ie... she feels fine, salty french fries etc. When I thought of short foreign films, I knew I had an album title. I then composed a handful of work related song titles. After that, the songs wrote themselves. I did it assembly line style. I recorded guitar to click track for all the songs. Next, I composed the lyrics for all six followed by drum programming and bass parts. After seven days I had a complete CD with album artwork that I handed out to my fellow employees. Most received a four song copy because one of the songs revealed a crush I had on a fellow worker (Validate Me) and another was a complaint against a superior (What Emergency?). Real drums certainly would have been better, but that was beyond my scope at that time. SuPERFLUOuS WoOHOoS would later go to cover kiddie tunes and Beatles songs, never quite establishing a unique identity of their own. I was obsessed with The Simpsons at that time and was often woohooing ala Homer in an inordinately excessive manner. One fine lady I knew jokingly complained about my superfluous woohooing, and thus a band was born.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [1/17/2011 6:52:12 PM EST]
Yeah well, it is stuff 8 years old. Way past time to throw it out to the wolves.
Richie Isaacs [1/17/2011 1:51:32 PM EST]

LiTTLE TiMMY [1/16/2011 12:11:27 PM EST]
Okay, here's the new scoop on an old band and some of the older recordings. I am sure many of you will be glad to see the ugly spiked haired, red eyed band pic go. I always thought it was funny. Jeni says I have Andy Kaufman syndrome. Where the more annoyed people become, the funnier it is to me. And she's right. The new pic (created most professionally in Kid-Pix) is from the album art of a six song ep conceived, written, recorded, mixed, burned, printed, and distributed in a seven day period. It was my most prolific week ever. The cd was inspired by my job and created for the enjoyment of my fellow co-workers in August of 2003. It was a big hit at the plant and I am still getting comments to this day. Yes, before SuPERFLUOuS WoOHOoS became a kiddie cover band, we was rock and roll. I plan to submit the six songs (after and between my other bands clearing the backstage) over the course of the next year to be subjected to the masses praise or disparagement, as the case may be. I was sequencing the drums at that time and using Digital Performer before I kicked that flake-ware to the curb.

I was very lucky to attend a concert last night of the Dave Rawlings Machine featuring Gillian Welch at our annual Take Root festival over here. One of the peak experiences of 33 years of visiting live music.
Richie Isaacs [9/17/2010 6:26:23 AM EST]
I thought it was absolutely awesome, I prolly already said BUT that's the sort of music I'd make when pissed off at the world in general and I have at least two of my guitar students do the same thing when lessons frustrate them AND they love it when I join in with the sonic mayhem.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [9/16/2010 3:47:54 PM EST]
I have both of their albums on vinyl. Its great watching them invent music on their own and then doing covers on the second album. As irrelevant to the beat as the drums were on the first album, the pitch of the bass was on the second, played with the addition of a fourth sister. Its all the sound of someone desperately searching for a way to grasp something that is beyond their grasp. I love them because they are not a joke. Creative in the fact that it is really derivative of that which is slightly beyond their level of comprehension. Here are the real underdogs. Here are the superstars. This is why I love music.

I was trying out a board I had put together with spare parts and I had adjusted the front tucks too tight. I got tucked up in the corner all nice and the thing wouldn't turn. I just pitched to the flat.

I can't blame the bottom of the bowl, it broke my fall.
Babar Klunj [7/24/2010 8:32:26 PM EST]
so it was the pavement's fault...
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [7/24/2010 8:13:08 PM EST]
The technical term is non-displaced radial head fracture. It really ain't that bad, no cast or nothing. But its got me away from work for a month and a half. Unplanned vacation. And technically, I had already fallen off the board when my arm broke.
Babar Klunj [7/24/2010 5:28:24 PM EST]
It's pretty sweet. Hoping to record with it this evening (if the Sierras don't take over). Broke your arm??? Skateboarding???
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [7/24/2010 4:42:36 PM EST]
I figured you would think so. I believe it has all of the kinds of effect laden tones that dutiful Prog Rockers need. I am sure you will have lots of fun and find tons of inspiration from it. I'm still sitting here anxiously waiting on the SG. I can play guitar even though I am out of work with a broke arm (no drums though). It's being shipped from a seller in Canada. I had lost a few auctions. This one did not have a very good picture so I am on pins and needles to see how it is. BUt probably because of that is why I got a great deal. $385. The specials have been running around 450 and go for over 700 new. My mandolin is taking a spot on the wall, so I will just find another place for that to make room. I may have to start thinning the herd. Anyone in the market for a 79 Goldtop Gibson Les Paul Deluxe?
Babar Klunj [7/24/2010 10:00:31 AM EST]
ok---the Johnson J-Station is freaking awesome.
Babar Klunj [7/23/2010 8:02:33 PM EST]
cool IE!!! Do you still have space on the walls of Pig City? (oh....there's always room for more guitars our friendly pachyderm is thinking)
I got this for recording though I hear it it pretty spiffy running through an amp. Looking forward to redoing my little studio area tomorrow and plugging in. If you don't hear from me in a couple of weeks send beer.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [7/23/2010 7:35:31 PM EST]
You may never use your amp again. YOu'll now just have so many tone options. Sweet. Myself, I am waiting on a Gibson SG special (faded brown) I won in an Ebay auction. I have wanted one forever. Ah, boys and their toys lust.
Babar Klunj [7/23/2010 4:42:00 PM EST]
On the recommendation of my pal Sputnikov I just received a new toy that I got off ebay. A Johnson J-Station is now a part of Small Potatoes studio here in Kastle Klunj.
http://www.johnson-amp.com/jstation.htm
As with most acquisitions in my modest setup a studio rearrangement will be taking place in the morning in order for the new toy to become better acquainted with the older more established toys.

You know Richie. I think it's awesome. If you've got the drive, do it!!!! There's a group of 5 of us from Jr. and Sr. High school that all had the same teacher. It was cultural, social and eye opening. Frankly I think I learned more from the guitar teacher than I ever did from anyone at that age. A real mentor. If we got to the level: he'd let us play in his cover band. It was kind of like a graduation. Yeah! You can be a buddha of music. Great!
Richie Isaacs [4/25/2010 7:44:42 PM EST]
Funny you should say that bro cos my mate Rimu is indeed starting a local branch here and is bringing me on board as a tutor/mentor, once he gets the logistics sorted it's all go!
Hah, I might sound all Hallmarkish but it really DOES feel great passing on to the next generation (I'll share the School with yaz on FB so you can see the pics of the kids on stage)

Babar Klunj [4/25/2010 5:49:40 PM EST]
Richie...since you had so much fun teaching the young ones how to rock have you given any thought of starting a school or looking to see if there is a teaching position available? You would be great at it!!
Richie Isaacs [4/25/2010 5:00:30 PM EST]
I am gonna just say how a song makes me feel or if I like it or not instead as everyone else is dong a great job at the pulling to bits and offering production opinions, I will give advice when I see it needed but as to the songwriting and production tips...nah, that's a personal thing and every body is always right :o)
unklespaz [4/25/2010 9:27:05 AM EST]
Richie: That's awesome. I disagree though. You are good at stripping a song to the core and letting us know what you think. I think it's very insightful. I guess I think of you and I especially as admirers than critics, but I also find helpful suggestions in what you write. I don't blame you for giving up on the critic bit but I hope you keep writing occasionally. Cool though. Something that has such emotional raw spontaneous power like music is hard to evaluate though. I'd describe a lot of the critiques as "emotional raw spontaneous power" as well. Music should be fun, it should be entertaining, and it should be visceral or passionate at best. I also find it healing and cathartic. That said, I am sure you have a lot to offer the young ones.
Richie Isaacs [4/24/2010 10:50:46 PM EST]
No, an awesome week away mentoring youngsters on how to rock-out on stage, speaking for my self (sniping free guaranteed) I found music isn't something to pick to bits but to just enjoy, those kids had so much fun just playing that I think I re-learned what music is about for me...I'll leave the whole production thing and change this and that thing to those more qualified to do so, my heart belongs to playing and listening and that's more than enough :o)
Babar Klunj [4/24/2010 9:33:29 PM EST]
bad day at the office?
Richie Isaacs [4/24/2010 6:26:31 PM EST]
And I quit as being a critic, I sucked at it any way..I'm happy enough just to listen to it and play it...don't wanna pick it to bits, aint a tinkerer, am just a musician is all :o)

GoingtothePoolhouse [2/18/2010 3:45:35 PM EST]
yeah, that looks cool too, but mine does the job fine for my vocals with some slight eq adjustments... and, like you say, good clarity to it.
unklespaz [2/17/2010 8:39:00 PM EST]
nice, I had one, but actually traded it ... but they seem to have a nice clarity.. although I'd like to check of the NT2k with the bass rolloff and the neat patterns.
T Hey have some pretty good clarity on their mics anyway.
GoingtothePoolhouse [2/17/2010 7:52:10 PM EST]
My "go to mic" is a Rode NT1A. Never had a Neumann for it to kill, though, but i'm real happy with it and it seems well worth the price.
unklespaz [2/17/2010 7:20:42 PM EST]
well they call the Rode mics the Neumann Killers but, after owning a couple I don't believe the hype. I've found equip to be much like guitars, meaning that there are one or several for everybody, but it doesn't necessarily mean that one's better than another for a certain individual.

um...um...way ahead of me on this one. When I want some clarity I play a round of golf. I do have some pennies though.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [2/16/2010 8:14:45 PM EST]
I need a vocal mic better than my AKG C300b. I am looking for clarity. Any suggestions? I use a Focusrite Platinum Voice Master as my vocal channel preamp. Maybe, if I cashed in my penny jar I could get some Avalon stuff.

Richie Isaacs [2/16/2010 7:37:06 PM EST]
I should submit my last full song I guess, I am totally happy with how it is, and it's unmixable now as I did it at polytech and all my info and 'masters' are now wiped from their servers for this years students so anyone saying' "you should do THIS to the mix" is like saying' 'you should sew your severed head back on'
Or something.
We'll see.

Babar Klunj [2/6/2010 8:37:31 AM EST]
Two feet of snow here at Klunj Kastle at 8:35 AM and still coming down. The Queen and I are well stocked with all the essentials. Good time to work on music.
Babar Klunj [1/31/2010 4:32:16 PM EST]
Today I had the pleasure of sampling some Sam Adams Utopia beer. WOW!! Extremely limited production...27% alcohol...$130 a bottle. Seriously tasty stuff. More like a fine cognac or brandy than a beer. Not something to suck down on a hot summer day. Fortunately I have a friend who owns a beer and wine distributorship. She got it as a gift from the Boston Brewing Company and kindly shared some of it with some of the backstage folks at the Opera House.
unklespaz [1/28/2010 5:21:51 PM EST]
no, you biratches! fugdgey tardey goodness

I think I'd drink just in spite of this
Mr. Bratty [1/28/2010 1:31:42 PM EST]
biratch
unklespaz [1/27/2010 1:51:58 PM EST]
I have resembled those remarks big brother. I been there and been shameless.

You know what's funny is I looked at my tofu login the other day and had a few boos. Apparently people don't like lolspeak on their songs. Memes and avatars may cause trouble but words probably wont hurt you, they'll just urk you.
Richie Isaacs [1/27/2010 6:13:08 AM EST]
Yeah, my alter-ego..I mean, alias only comes out to harrass me, or me 'him' I'm actually cranky by nature and had to fight to be nice, that over opinionated know it all annoying little #@&%!? That was me at 22, what I liked was good and what i didn't was #@&%! and didn't care who I pissed off, sometimes I'd say I hated #@&%! JUST to piss people off or be contrary on purpose (did teh whole go find obscure bands to be a snob too, NOT cos I liked them, it was to be elitist...hah, what an arsehole I was!...thank Rory there was not Internet like we have now... I think you've seen on facebook when my old self escapes...is ok, have plenty of duct tape.
Oh, look at that, I was just an Internet Meme!!!!
unklespaz [1/26/2010 7:36:23 PM EST]
I think you have to choose 1 or the other. Either be an ass or cranky, not both.

I think the aliases are a little confusing still.
Richie Isaacs [1/26/2010 6:17:04 PM EST]
Cranky is cool, arseholeness drives folk away so..yeah, i concur...crank away :o)
Babar Klunj [1/26/2010 5:45:15 PM EST]
let the crank begin
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [1/26/2010 2:46:11 PM EST]
bite me
unklespaz [1/26/2010 9:34:52 AM EST]
I used to do some of that stirring too, with mixed results buddy, but I think your playfulness still shows up
Babar Klunj [1/26/2010 8:12:46 AM EST]
Crank away my friend.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [1/25/2010 10:54:23 PM EST]
I just felt an absence of cranky bastards had occurred. Feeling cranky, I volunteered. What? Have firecrackers been banned from this site? The place needs some action. Bring it.
Babar Klunj [1/25/2010 4:45:04 PM EST]
I like what I like.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [1/25/2010 11:25:39 AM EST]
QC. How have you let things slide this far? Folks, has his absence brought more action to this place? Has the absence of humilifying reject staging brought in the untold hordes?
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [1/25/2010 11:19:09 AM EST]
The Kriticks around here need a swift boot in the ass. I have half a mind to give sing a call and turn him loose on your mealy pansy asses. Somebody has to do it. Instead of praising those things that show creativity and uniqueness, they (kriticks) all praise those things they imagine would be considered good by others. Get some character. And taste.
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [1/20/2010 7:47:40 PM EST]
YOu need to tell Obama how you just did that. It could help America.
Will H. Disney [1/20/2010 5:08:48 PM EST]
Just making sure this is working. Yes it's working.
Sputnikov [1/20/2010 12:44:56 PM EST]

Richie Isaacs [1/10/2010 3:21:49 PM EST]
Will dig backstage for it!
Babar Klunj [1/10/2010 9:21:32 AM EST]
The Bubinga Brothers was a varying group of people who met at Klunj Kastle back in the late 80's to make music. Generally improvised with a wide range of musical skills involved. If you didn't have an instrument, one was found for you or you might get tasked to do some vocals. Good times.
Babar Klunj [1/9/2010 10:52:31 PM EST]
Bubinga Brothers....1989....now up for listening. Party tapes back before children arrived.....oh #@&%!....that might mean....before some of you....
Babar Klunj [1/9/2010 9:27:17 PM EST]
Man...been going through a bunch of moldy, old cassettes of stuff I did way back in dark ages. What a trip. I had forgotten about a whole lot of it...and rightfully so....#@&%!ty equipment....having no #@&%!ing idea what the hell I was doing....less than optimal skills....but ya gotta start somewhere I guess. Next up...a piece I did in 1983 with a battery powered Yamaha mini synth entitled Fermentation. Yeah...it's pretty sucky...but wtf.......
ChrisMoschetti [12/26/2009 4:17:15 PM EST]
no way.. I just looked up sesame street vids for an hour and then I com here....
Richie Isaacs [12/24/2009 2:40:30 AM EST]
Sesame Street was definitely imported over here, that's was/is a bankable commodity around the globe... altho they cut the Spanish segments out after a few years as altho tis a beautiful language it's just not spoken here....I grew up with it, ladybugs picnic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX9J7WcYtxI and the trippy Grace Slick counting videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbGAaD0Owas
Grover The Waiter was my fave, with the weird dude who would order his food by making the sounds.
I've seen a few Mr Rogers clips....they still seem pretty surreal, almost hypnotic, the speech was awesome tho, I must share it...thank you!
unklespaz [12/24/2009 1:03:37 AM EST]
ok ok, well here's a taste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmZV6KRsMaU
I think it explains a lot about our formative years

this is actually awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KIk9JDetf8

and if you don't know Grover..... he is practically an icon! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieO8MGbZgU8
Richie Isaacs [12/23/2009 6:06:42 PM EST]
Captain Kangaroo wasn't sent here either...altho we received Shari Lewis's show which had Captain Person...who WAS a kangaroo!
Richie Isaacs [12/23/2009 6:04:44 PM EST]
Mr Roger's Neighbourhood wasn't even shown over here BUT thanks to the Internetz making everything less topical I have indeed heard of him..he was kinda creepy.
tofu_the_cat_ [12/22/2009 8:32:42 PM EST]
Tofu iz neow takin overr heer. Hez must contemplatez this myzzzterrry.
Richie Isaacs [12/22/2009 6:01:28 PM EST]
Dear Spaz....I'll see Monkey about uploading the pointless aimless bluesy noodling, will be funny to see it critiqued cos altho *I* listen to critiques and use them in my songs(my skills have improved from what I've been told, my last song was my coolest IMO, not putting it on here tho as part of it belongs to someone else so can't have it for free download) Monkey doesn't give a rats tushie about critiques and posts to just post.(As do a few others on here methinks, which is cool, post to share, not to be evaluated) if it turns up, it turns up.
Sorry, Mr Disney (:
I have a session with Red Faction on my nephews PS3, which is perfect for mellowing out #@&%!ty days.
Later, dudes....
Babar Klunj [12/22/2009 3:44:36 PM EST]
no surprise here....I never liked AC/DC, never will. But am happy that others do.
Richie Isaacs [12/22/2009 3:14:10 PM EST]
Oh yeah, Back In Black was the first one I heard and picked riff off of (for a reggae fan that was pretty significant) and found the earlier Bon stuff afterwards, in my brother in laws vinyl collection...that dude still has the most diverse, and open mind, of any audiophile I've ever seen.
unklespaz [12/22/2009 3:04:05 PM EST]
Well my very 1st record was "for those about to rock" at the time it was on heavy rotation, age 9 or whatever - I started with all those classics.... the video broadcast of the tour from Flick of the switch made me determined to play guitar actually. I was so impressed with the 1 handed playing and that cool solo he did :_) I was actually in shock with Bon's singing style after buying the early stuff on a whim, but I'm with you: after the age of 21 or whatever, I don't like much new stuff outside of back in black
Richie Isaacs [12/22/2009 2:52:51 PM EST]
I only like the Bon Scott era, not too keen on being screamed at all the time ya see.
Love At First Feel was the replaced track...I won't track it down as I don't listen to them much anymore but in it's day it, and most of the Bon era acca dacca, was damn good noisy fun.
unklespaz [12/22/2009 2:47:34 PM EST]
BUS GAWKINS!
unklespaz [12/22/2009 2:41:04 PM EST]
thing is, she doesn't look like the type that could overpower a typical guy, I'm torn between thinking the guy should have ran away really fast, or known enough self defense to out block those stabs.. Jebus! Still I wouldn't want to find out for myself.
Babar Klunj [12/22/2009 2:38:38 PM EST]
GUS WATKINS
unklespaz [12/22/2009 2:38:12 PM EST]
Wow, spose she's related to Gus Watkins? I'm guessing an icepick hurts really pretty bad.
Babar Klunj [12/22/2009 2:37:14 PM EST]
years ago a buddy of mine had some #@&%! steal a parking spot that he was waiting for at a small shopping mall. The other guy was a total dick and threatened my buddy with violence. When my buddy got back to his house he was obviously upset so I drove him back to the mall in my car where we proceeded to let the air out all of Mr. #@&%!'s tires. Said #@&%! was from out of the area (by about 30 miles) and happened to have 3 other #@&%!s with him. Sometimes there are ways to just make the world OK again.
unklespaz [12/22/2009 2:37:05 PM EST]
That's funny, I've got the Aussie release on LP (same thing - song not on the US version). Which song is missing on the Aussie version? Dang I've got that, the High voltage, the TNT album, and something else.. and the Brian Johnson and Bon Scott works before ACDC....I'm kinda over em but sure liked them back in the day. I had the Soul Stipper 7' and a few other assorted singles.

They always did really well with the imagery. Cool stuff
Richie Isaacs [12/22/2009 1:07:50 PM EST]
I want to find the U.S release a it's got a song not on the Aussie/NZ release (I DO prefer the original artwork, very bogan :)
It's a great album, my fave of theirs ;)
unklespaz [12/22/2009 12:58:18 PM EST]
I don't know about Obscure. It's been a lot of years since Dirty deeds came out though (76 ?) ....that's a while. ACDC fans all know it because they still do it live. Then again, there are so many people that don't really know rock all that well period. GO figure.
Richie Isaacs [12/22/2009 2:52:04 AM EST]
No..not that...this...the song now has new meaning...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLCKSPFrkJQ
Some mash ups work better than others.
(Really, was Dirty Deeds obscure over there? it was huge here...hmmm, Double Entendres suck)
Richie Isaacs [12/22/2009 2:45:20 AM EST]
Richie Isaacs [12/19/2009 3:23:51 PM EST]
Awesome, cheers bro! Hey, random chat radio thingy dug these guys up..and the critics back then were NICE to hip hop then (Mind you, these guys are a cut above the mass produced crap)
http://redfizz.com/rf/song.aspx?songid=343247
unklespaz [12/18/2009 11:21:00 PM EST]
did you see this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNRIfmzfSm4 Les solo live
unklespaz [12/18/2009 11:16:38 PM EST]
that's pretty cool, I'd heard of it but didn't realize it was metallic. I wish I'd known about this when I dug this style more. Oh well. Still wicked
Richie Isaacs [12/18/2009 6:23:30 AM EST]
Re RE discovered Blind Illusion's 'The Sane Asylum' again today, one of Les Claypool & Larry LaLonde's early outings...some seriously cool old school thrash metal!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-ij9mxmKKo
Richie Isaacs [12/15/2009 5:26:53 AM EST]
Actually...where'd all the second stage songs go? They all still in evaluation? Getting kinda dusty back there,,
Richie Isaacs [12/14/2009 4:58:40 AM EST]
Nah, no need to apologise, I have no idea about that, I'm like most folk and ignorant about affairs outside of my own country, I'd love to globetrot but can't see that ever happening...which is a damn shame as there's so many folk I wanna meet, some in particular but yeah, not holding my breath.
Am damn glad we've kicked off that colonial bull#@&%! tho, would love to see the Union Jack taken off our flag next, then the flag folded up and put in a draw and forgotten about, am a loyal lad to where I live, not to a symbol...(goddam lousy pinko :)
I better go to bed, sleep deprivation philosophy belongs in christmas cracker.
unklespaz [12/14/2009 2:25:22 AM EST]
Crazy. Yeah, my folks have been all over the world and have said that a lot of the European (or Descendants of) cities especially seem identical, minus the language or accent. I apologize in advance for any ignorance.
Richie Isaacs [12/14/2009 1:03:52 AM EST]
We're basically Americanised now, it's 90% of our television programming, the youth pick up something and run with it (we even say Santa now instead of the centuries old Father Christmas... neither appeal to me, I don't want a coca cola icon sliding his fat arse down MY chimney!) the Internet has almost made it a done deal, mind you, the lower class/below the poverty line youth here have their own language which doesn't export well...'cept I'm still trying to figgur out how our brother Nitwit got a hold of 'chur'
I don't mind the shift to foreign ways, sheeit I was prepared to move over there ...am still gonna head over one day, got to make at least one fizzfest before the old guard expire :P
unklespaz [12/13/2009 11:32:01 PM EST]
The say Postal in NZ? Wow, that's something that the expression is all over the place.
Richie Isaacs [12/13/2009 7:57:01 PM EST]
Once more unto the breach, dear friends!
Later!
Richie Isaacs [12/13/2009 4:15:06 PM EST]
Oh for fuxake, filling out the online form it asks if you're a MR, Miss or Ms...fair enuff, then later it asks if I'm male or female...after I've already said Mr.
Yes, I'm the girl known as Mr Richie.
(3...2...1...)
Richie Isaacs [12/13/2009 3:59:04 PM EST]
#@&%! government deparments, am sure they make happy messes when they reshedule your appointments...no wonder folk go postal, now, where my machete at?
Richie Isaacs [12/13/2009 1:23:07 PM EST]
Ugh, govt. departments...gotta go see one....stupid metal detectors...take all the fun of a day out away...
Richie Isaacs [12/10/2009 7:58:30 PM EST]
Computer's dying...later, nice talking with yaz.
Richie Isaacs [12/8/2009 11:42:59 PM EST]
That third option...yeah, it's needed.
Nomad [12/5/2009 5:12:01 PM EST]
so looking at the queue... pretty much everything is going to be featured now?
Richie Isaacs [11/20/2009 11:27:45 PM EST]
Sweet, have picked up a freelance gig tonight with a friend's family band, should be interesting, never played with them before or their rep, will see if all those years of creative bull#@&%!ting, I mean, experience pay off...
