Song Lyricist - Paul Robert Thomas
Hi! My name is Paul Robert Thomas (a.k.a. Paul Thomas a.k.a. 'Paul Lyricist') & I am a Song Lyricist (try saying that after a few beers:)! I was born & grew up in North London with Camden Town, Swiss Cottage, Primrose Hill & Regents Park as my playgrounds. I have some Welsh blood in me too as my mother & grandmother were from Wales
I believe that the act of creation, in this instance creating songs, is a gift from God!
My musical & lyrical roots are drawn from English Folk, American Folk & Blues, Christian/Gospel with influences from English nursery rhymes and church hymns.
I work with artists from all over the globe creating songs, irrespective of race, gender or religious views.
My main music site is at where you can find out what Andy Warhol said to me when we met each other, what the late great Robert Johnson’s grandson wrote to me and what Buckingham Palace recently sent me re. a song of ours and while you’re there you’ll discover loads of officially released songs, albums, concert video’s, articles, interviews and much more!
I am currently No.1 in the UK and also No.1 for London at, No.1 for London & No.3 in the UK’s Blues charts at and am No.5 in London’s Alternative song charts at with my current collaboration with Singer/Songwriter ex-Londoner Paul Odiase, we are called ‘The Paul’s (The Paul’s) because we’re both called Paul:)!
I am an 'Independent artist' although I am attached to different record labels and publishers with previous releases but I am still classed as being an 'Independent artist'.
My music site on Facebook is and I am on Twitter at where I have over 4,000 followers.

Thank you and wishing you all the best from Paul:)!

strummindude [12/3/2014 8:48:34 AM EST]

State of the art, melody laden
More laid back than vigorous
Succulent sound, expertly played, and
More unfeigned than frivolous

Honest self-description is hard. But the above lines usually do a decent job for a brief, tongue-in-cheek introduction to the music of Strummindude, the moniker I use for showcasing my music.

I've been at it for a long time. Used to be a pro musician, but lately moved to do music just because it's what I enjoy the most, when I'm not working or raising a family. I think my main songwriting influences are probably found in 70's rock and pop, even though I try to keep the production standards reasonably current. I do an album per year, as part of the annual RPM Challenge.

Not really very good at giving feedback to music, but willing to improve. Not being native to English (Swede), it's sometimes a bit awkward when my impressions or comparisons fail to have any sort of common ground with the ambitions of the performer. Anyhow - looking forward to listening to some great new music!

And thanks to Angie Fights Crime for tipping me off about the site!

towilmusic [11/26/2014 11:24:11 PM EST]
I just found this forum and wanted to thank the site owners for such an incredible place to share our music. I decided to add a tune which I wrote and recorded, over 20 years ago in the early 1990s on my cassette 4-track,

Why? Because its one of my favorites. I think that its the very first time that I grasped my engineering talents, as low-fi as they were at that time and delivered a quality song.

I think music needs to be created by anyone and everyone who wants to create it, no matter the budget and definitely not just the folks who can afford the studios which throw out impeccable sounding "schmutz", which we've heard on radio for 30 odd years.

I am a big fan of the Beatles' "Anthology" project and I would much rather hear the genesis of a song such as "Strawbery Hills" with John Lennon on acoustic VS. the big, shiny over-produced single that they delivered.

That's just me...

let the dumpster dave teach the musical masses about times when sounds run rampant, and noise be plentiful, we harvest these waves of great glory, and bestow them upon your stoops wile you sleep, in a sneaky like motion, wile you think im here about fixing your broken toaster oven and bringing you out of the oblivious delusions that you toaster is your friend, all the wile we sneak these musical calamities called "songs" into your homes, who will be next to gain musical sounds that they did not ask to obtain, maybe you, or you . . . . . or even YOU! . . . . or maybe this is all just some prefabricated construct, from within the canyons of your minds, maybe we all shall break bread and celebrate the occasion of joy and confusion, and after all that, my general point is, well why bother, no one will understand it anyways, enjoy the so called tunes, break strings and don't dance, I think that about covers the basics, now go drink a beer and consider why you took the time to read this message all the way down to this bottom part, and if you come up with a reason I would e more than happy to hear it and thus share other great truths about the world and fools and other things to . . . . . .

Thank you for your help
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [11/30/2013 12:06:43 PM EST]
Your song is probably still backstage. A submitter can't view their own song backstage. Here is the work-around. Create another account and screen name just for this purpose. With a different screen name you can now scroll through the songs backstage until you find yours. Now you can see if there are any comments yet made. Please consider that it is considered bad form to vote on your own song or create multiple accounts just to cast votes for your tune, (or to sabotage others). I think it just takes a certain number of comments backstage before tunes move en-mass to the queue. You can expedite that process by voting for other peoples tunes (under your proper name). Once your tune goes into the queue, only the gods no what happens. Nobody can see your tune until it publishes. That usually takes a week. Dates and locations for publishing can be found on the queue. Click songs-all and then find the queue at the top of the page. Hope this helps.
Rickrick [11/29/2013 2:17:35 PM EST]
Encouraging to get someone live to talk to me. Appreciate it Irregular. May I call you irregular ? When, if you know, might I start looking for my song. I posted at the beginning of the week. Might be a little while yet. And where would I look.Thank you
IrREGULAR ELEPHAnT [11/28/2013 8:46:09 AM EST]
Submissions either get featured or second stage. There are no rejects anymore. Though it always was semantical anyway, more relating to how many pages you had to click through to get to your song. Rickrick, you are right to assume there just aren't that many people hanging around here anymore. I critique and comment when post a new tune. Probably makes some comments backstage this weekend because I have a tune backstage from one of my bands. If you'll hang around, submit, and comment maybe you could be the one to really get the ball rolling again. Oh, to return to the glory days of fizz gone by.
Rickrick [11/27/2013 7:41:38 AM EST]
Waiting patiently for my submission to be accepted/rejected. That sounds like something some weird old polite whore would say. Are there more than 4-5 people who listen and comment on the songs ? I dont see many different names on the comments. Baby steps. I'll figure this #@&%! out

Hey Redfizz. We are an all original band out of Gainesville, Fl. A freind from California told me about this and I wanted to check it out.
We have just made the transition from being a three piece accoustic band to adding another guitar. Its taking alittle time to get our new guitar player caught up on our material, but it's coming along well. The core of the band has been together probably 10 years. I write all our songs, and play accoustic guitar. We are the Rick Ryan Band. For no better term Ive found, we list our genre as folk/punk. We look forward to sharing our music with everyone, and getting some feedback from you.

crucifix [2/9/2013 11:15:43 PM EST]
Born in Atlanta Georgia, raised in Central and East Africa, Crucifix spent much of his early childhood bouncing from continent to continent, soaking in a wide influence of music, language and culture. By the age of 18, he was native to fifteen different countries, fluent in English, French, and Swahili, and dabbling in German and Finnish. But it was his unveiling passion for music that would soon take center stage in his life. At the age of 8, he had begun to make a name freestyle battling on the street corners of Decatur Georgia, a dance that soon became a full blown love affair with hip-hop. At the age of twelve he moved to Africa where he began teaching himself the piano, writing and producing his own music. And quickly discovered the power of pouring out his heart into song.

Within a year, he found himself recording his first album, from the comfort of his bedroom, making his own tapes with little more than a tape recorder and a keyboard. Designing the covers by hand and selling them at school and on the dusty streets of Rwanda. But his rendez vous with local success would be short lived. In April of 1994, Rwanda would break out into one of the worst genocides in modern history, leaving over a million dead in its wake. Crucifix and his family found themselves on the front lines… a broken road of burning cars and mangled corpses, the only path between them and safety. With nothing but a Bible in their hands and a prayer in their hearts, the family pushed towards the border, escaping with their lives under a hail of gunfire as they slipped through the roadblocks of machete wielding mobs, out of Rwanda and into the neighboring country of Burundi.

The memories of Rwanda made a lasting imprint on the life and music of Crucifix from that point. It soon became the canvas for his pain, medicine for his heart. In 2005 he released his controversial double disc debut, “My Life’s Prayer” under the alias BabyBlue, and year later, in 2006, he was hired on as co-producer, editor and musical mind behind the Atlanta underground film, “Crackheads Gone Wild”. In 2009 his life story was published in the book “Your Own Jesus” by Mark Hall, of the multi-platinum, Grammy, Dove and American Music Award winning group, Casting Crowns. In 2010, the Blue Crucifix story went international, as “Your Own Jesus” was translated into its second language for release in Europe.

In July 2010, he released his follow up sophomore album, “Cruce Signati”, as well as teaming up with Southern HipHop legend Sean Paul of Youngbloodz forming the group Slumdogz. In 2011 his music appeared in VH1's "The T.O. Show" and wound down the year by venturing into the Dead Zone of Chernobyl to film his newest music video and upcoming documentary "Road To Chernobyl". His third album "Acid Reign", produced by Phivestarr Production is set to drop in mid 2013 and promises to be his best work to date, featuring Bubba Sparxxx, Nappy Roots, Sean Paul of Youngloodz and Big Rube of Dungeon Family.

Great of you to support her! Practice and lessons are a good way to start. Exposure to a wide variety of music is also great.
unklespaz [2/9/2013 2:48:24 PM EST]
it takes 10000 hours to master something. That equals a lot of practice. I think the most imporatant thing is to have a good balance. Friends, work, discipline, and then natural talent. Most musicians are flakes, so if you can sing, and act like a normal human being, I see the sky as the limit.

Very cool of you to support a youngin. If I was voting for extra credit, I'd get her a guitar or a keyboard, awesome lessons, and advanced understandings of the way music works. Rhythm, elements, and composition are all important. If you're really brave, get her into music that really rocks. Zeppelin and Floyd, and hendrix did wonders for opening my expansion to other forms of music.

Dear All,
I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice in which direction I should point my 12 year old daughter. She is in love with singing and all I can do is try to be a supporting father. I attach below the link, although she now has 2 which are both on you tube. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you are able to afford me.

"There's a Metallica influence in Khaos Theory's music that comes out loud and clear. These guys devour the metal and spit it out in songs such as 'Take a Shot'. They've also got a much edgier Nickelback or Shinedown vibe to the less metal tracks thanks to Daimon Payton's tough vocals.." - Black Velvet Magazine (Issue 74), review from Morton Stanley Festival 2012

I think folks around here appreciate new artists as the crowd is much thinner than in the past. Welcome. If you can be bothered, please utilize the backstage area and provide your unique opinions on other folks music. YOu don't have to critique if you don't want to, but we are even thinner on critics than artists and everybody appreciates when their music is listened to. good on ya. make yourselves at home. listen like you want to be listened to. or not. and discuss. or not. the world may not be ready for supersonic chicken from outerspace. but then, maybe it is. just remember, hair is a commodity and love, love is that little place deep in the hollow-body where your pick always gets stuck. you turn that thing upside-down and shake and it rattles around, but hell no, it ain't ploppin' out dat f-hole. but, I digress. happy skanking.
sundownrhode [11/29/2012 6:20:11 PM EST]
Although Sundown Rhode recorded its first real studio songs recently, the band got its start in the late 90s, when singer-songwriters Joe Cormier and Peter Haugen wrote their first, primitive, four-chord songs. While the band's sound is definitely influenced by some of the greats of the classic rock era, Sundown Rhode has added a twist of lemon to rock and roll. It's a hit parade...with lemonade.

I've got no problem with people downloading my basement demos, but it would be nice if we at least got the geographic locations of where they were going. You're still giving away songs, but at least you'll know where to book and you can make it up in merch. Soundcloud does it, but you don't get squat for feedback there.

I know some fellas get all huffy about it BUT some folk DO sell their music so be aware that there is no disable downloads option on here, it's not a popular site tho so not many people find it to download yer stuff, if you don't care about the download option (like most folk on here don't) then throw some songs up, be nice to hear them!!

Michael Angelo [8/15/2012 7:13:05 PM EST]
Hey guys,
My name is Michael Angelo and I'm singer/songwriter based out of Providence, RI.
I'm returning to this site after a 5 year hiatus. I've been using that time to develop my skills as a songwriter, as well as explore all of the different genres of music to discover my own style of playing.

I've always loved this website and valued the ideas and opinions of its users, many of which helped me along to develop my song writing skills.
Now I think it's time for me to start writing and recording some songs for my demo, in order to pursue a career in music.

The songs that I'll be submitting will be very rough in quality, but they will give you the general idea of where I want a song to go and what it will be about.
I appreciate the honesty of all listeners and critics when it comes to my work. There's always some sort of truth to criticism! and it all helps along the way.

I'm by no means a polished songwriter, and I know that it is a field that is constantly improving and evolving. That is why I am submitting my work. I'd like to use this site as a tool to perfect my craft. I value all opinions and tastes and I appreciate any time spent listening to or commenting on my songs.
Green Penny [7/1/2012 4:24:23 PM EST]
Hello All! I am Green Penny (aka Frank). My friend told me about this page and said it would be a great place to get constructive feedback on my music, as well as getting my music out there (and hopefully getting signed!). I also look forward to offering my inputs to other musicians along the way. I am currently recording acoustic Indie/Rock/Folk type music, but enjoy various genres. I hope to explore electronica at some point. My favorite bands are: Led Zeppelin, AIR, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Grateful Dead. I look forward to hearing from you!

@elephant The stacker was sent from heaven to make the world a better place. I usually rock the triple, and the quad when I'm feeling it. Even when I lived in Santa Monica I would still go to bk as much as In N Out or fatburger. Gee, no wonder I put 60 pounds on when I lived in LA.

Hello:) I love screamo and electronic music. Facebook brought me here! I might, in the far away future, post some music from my band (if I ever start one). So, yup:)

I had the BK double stacker, I liked that. Did get mustard and ketchup on my pants. I have heard that the trio is good.

JL from México here, interested to listen: progressive rock, alternative, trip hop, vocal trance, psycho, some indie maybe, metal only if the band is offering something new (Moonspell & Tiamat are my current favorite ones) in general I like almost all, just please: not R&B, country, minimalist electronic made with presets or Hip Hop.
Littlegreenjason [2/12/2011 3:50:39 PM EST]
Hi all,

My name is Jason Mullinax and I record and perform under the name Pilesar. I'm more or less a one man band and my music is inspired heavily by bands like Ween, Butthole Surfers, Boredoms, Renaldo and the Loaf, 80's music, avant garde music, etc etc. Essentially, I like lots of different types of stuff and I try to incorporate it into my sound.

I came to red fizz to see what it's all about. I friend suggested I look into it so here I am:).

Hey I'm here to post my songs so that you may enjoy listening to them.I guess you could say my music genre is underground/hiphop,but I don't like to put it in a class. I've worked with artists such as J-STARR and my close friends. I am currently working with an amazing artist named Dionn Peterson and sound engineer/producer/everything else that involves music Ivan Kilowatt. I will post my oldies and frequently update with my newer pieces. Peace!

I understand your concern. You know its a demo so all you have to do is take the criticism with that knowledge. If you are worried that the perception will be that it is your best effort, you can do what I and others sometimes do and insert (demo) or (sketch) in the title when submitting.
Richie Isaacs [1/19/2011 12:59:59 PM EST]
Kinda how this site runs, should be a big sticker sayin' 'Demo Inside'

Let me put this simply, I am a music freak. My life revolves around it, everything I do has something -however subtle- to do with music. I have no favorites, I play whatever I write or whatever I can get my hands on. I'm more of a singer than anything, but I can play a variety of instruments.

My motto is simple:

"Live your life or die trying"

You might not get what that has to do with my music now, but you will later.

Yeah - we'll put something in for messaging. What if it was just the ability for people to generate a message to you from the site and then you could communicate off-site?

No - no messaging per se - but you can post each other's FB links and talk that way for now. Maybe we'll add a little private posting area so you can at least share info like that...
